There's a state park within 2 miles of home that I frequent. For the past 3 years I've only been taking one lens and leaving the camera bag at home. I've been out with my Sigma 85mm 1.4 Art lens and gotten some nice shots. It's pretty heavy at 2.5 lbs., but I get good results. With no zoom I spend more time picking my shots, slowing down my process, and more carefully choosing my composition. Thanks for a nice video. :)
Nice content. I'm thinking about getting an 85 myself, even though a 50 feels more "natural". Btw, the musical/comical elements were a bit loud compared to your speech etc (can be a bit unpleasant). Keep it up, felt as if you had far more subscribers than 113!
While each image is different, with the 85mm in these particular images I am using an aperture of 2.8 while focusing on the subjects which are very far away. In my landscape photos I actually like the depth of field that pulls you into the mountains/trees/waterfalls/etc so my aperture is usually wider than you'd expect from a lot of other landscape photographers. Focusing to infinity is a common practice of mine but I still maintain a wider aperture to get a bit of softness and to blur some of the foreground closer to where I'm standing.
