Your passion for these adventures is so infectious, it is so enjoyable with all the knowledge you both bring to your podcasts or RU-vid. Just love all the fun you make of all of these fines. Most of all when you show all your finds at the end and the stories. So enjoy all your adventures. 8/12/2024
There are lots of other plants that can be planted that honey bees and ots of other native pollinators like, so pulling out the invasive himalayas balsam should still be a priority, and instead planting other plants for bumblebees and solitary bees and all of the other Pollinator a priority
You’re spoiling me with the outdoors as I said before I love the countryside . It’s great to follow you both on your adventures I try to envision myself there with you wished I was. Love what you do. Look after your hands Alex. Thank you Gail thank you Alex for another great vid.
There she is hiding behind the bottle!!!!! Lolol such a precarious mudlarking but you found some awesome things. You two are amazing. Donna Northern Michigan USA
I love your videos. How you display your finds and treasures with the tiny people statrigically placed is adorable. I hope you will eventually sell your finds! I would buy them or any jewelry you make!
Himalayan balsam’s scientific name is Impatiens glandulifera. The leaves are purported to soothe burns (they give off a soothingly cool feeling when delicately laid upon the burn) and the seeds can be consumed and are supposed to taste nutty. Simmering the roots can yield juice that has been used to treat blood in the urine. There is another type of impatiens, called Impatiens capensis (AKA jewelweed), which is similar to this plant, but is orange. Those plants can be used topically, by applying the sap to skin irritated by stinging nettle or poison ivy. They have also been used to treat hives. The sap from the leaves and from the stems is anti-fungal, as well! 😊 It’s a beautiful plant and reminds me of the bougainvillea (pronounced bo gan vee ah) plant that is everywhere in Arizona. 🐝🌸🐝🌸🐝🌸🐝🌸🐝🌸🐝🌸🐝
The spongeware half-jar would perhaps make a nice candle holder, especially if you put something reflective behind it. I would even recommend painting the interior side with a reflecting paint.
Dear wee Miss Charlotte poking her little head out!!! Fabulous lark, I would go nuts if I lived near there 😲Hubby would not be amused 😆Thank you both, you're amazing xx Teresa 🇦🇺💖
Wow ladies this certainly was a dangerous mudlarking video, but well worth it, you found some great stuff, definitely a marble and clay pipe day, tfs x Julie
It was a marble-ous day on the river! I love that beer bottle, such a scrumptious color. You ladies took my breath a few times, it was quite scary, especially over the deep water. I'm very grateful you got out without injury. Stay safe!!
Alex, I’ve been worried that you are going to permanently damage your hands by the stress on them from the fireplace restoration work you have been doing. My hands have never been the same since work I did restoring a stone wall.
Her and mum have the most beautiful hands I've seen. I hope they are healing w no trouble. I hate to say I've done the same to mine but they healed up nicely. I just love watching you two. You remind me of my momma and i.. we were thick as thieves. She was my best friend. Unfortunately I lost here 6 yrs ago in Jan. She was only 67 and she was sick fast. I miss her daily and watching you both brings my heart light. I'd love to become a mudlarker but I live in the deserts of az. I'd give my right arm for a box of sea glass.. I make jewelry as well and it makes the most beautiful jewelry. I would so love to go to the beach and collect some. Thank you both for bringing me joy w each episode.. can't wait till the next. Be well.
I think this microscope will be a perfect Christmas gift for my 5 and 8 year old grandchildren. Paloma is always interested in your finds and they both love fossils.
Lovely items this time! Very lovely potteries pieces. From a distance the colors of all the items are warm light colors! So neat your new instrument to see things close up! Wow ….that will help with all your find! The perfume bottle too perfect despite the cut inside…thank you for sharing the beautiful finds! Be well greetings from California 😊
Hi Gail and Alex, you had heaps of fun with this one. Do you ever get tired of finding the same things? I love the microscope and many of the items you found. Love to all. Janice. Xx
Great exciting video! The microscope is an amazingly wonderful tool to have in your arsenal for future research endeavors. Thank you, ladies beautiful outing and finds.
That seam of broken cod bottles, the glass would be great for melting down, I think a whole window with the color would be beautiful! SO many wonderful finds! Love the microscope! Another use is to take pictures of patterns and such or textures for game making, art designs so many uses.
I not only love your incredible finds, but the view of your delightful old drop leaf table and the chairs outlined by the sunlight. You’re home must be absolutely amazing. I hope that one day you will give us a tour!
When I saw you turn over the first shard that had a makers stamp, I thought how cool it would be to make makers stamp pendants. It would be a really neat way to preserve the past.
Love when show all your good findings. that you put your little man in side pipes and cups. Little bottles. And love the glass marbles you both find amazing finds. 👏
Gail and Alex, i would be very nervous about that water and the steep bank. Rather you than me, venturing up and down that slope. Ugh, one false move and a very cold dip would be dreadful. I know your sensible and very careful, but ill wish you safe larking none the less. The layers in that fallen bank was quite amazing to look at. How tempting is would be to have a good scrape to see what lies beneath. I'd be watching that overhang, like a hawk. Some lovely finds ladies and i must admit I'm ways drawn to the little bottles. The little square ink bottle was adorable as was the perfume bottle. It was such a shame about the crack. X
Awww.. that lark was so scary.. Lovely little goodies.. beautiful glass pieces and dolly bowl..so many cool marbles..we have a Johnson Brothers dinner set that was my Nanas. So much fun watching you pop the seed pods .. lovely day❤
I love the metal pieces you collect and enjoy watching Gail make things from copper! I hope one day you will give your subscribers a chance to win a small amount of sea glass again! You can't know what it would mean to me to have actual sea glass or rocks from Scotland!
When Alex said she found a whole pipe and it's blue I giggled, that was a lot of broken cod bottles, steep terrain and deep water 😮, great finds ladies! ❤
A lot of neat finds. The microscope is a fun bonus. That is going to come in handy a lot, I think. As a rock collector, every time you are at a stony place, I can't help being distracted looking at the rocks. We used to find pottery pieces every time they disked and tilled the garden. One of my aunts used the shards she found to do a mosaic top to her outdoor table. Wish I had gotten pics of it.
I’ve seen huge elephant ear leaves in West Africa. Though the ones I’ve seen in Puerto Rico aren’t as massive, they are still big enough to shelter a young couple in the rain. Just don’t ask me how I know that. Lol
Beautiful bottles, pipes, cod marbles, pottery and other items. Nice microscope 🔬 it looks like it is good for beginners weather adults or kids. Have a great week ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💜
They were great find on that bank. I was so worrie dyou were going to land up in the river. What a lovely present too I am sure you will make good use of that. Happy hunting girls.

I wish you ladies would gather extra sponge ware & broken glass to sell to us crafters out here. In the USA our dumps are not as old as yours are over there, well from where I am from anyway (Utah). Would love to purchase a bag of bits and bobs, as Alex states, even knockered ones! Love both of your channels! P.S. Would like to see more of your son/brother.
