Thank you for the video. As horrid as last year was there is something freeing about burning it to the ground and rebuilding. Thankfully I have more faith in this regime to build wisely. For a player who was so polarizing at the draft I have read nothing but praise from the media and analysts across the board are calling Hutson the steal of the draft. How confident are you that we have a Quinn Hughes level talent on our hands and not Victor Mete? Btw Great job on the previous Slafkovski video. Your analysis is second to none.

The thing with Mete is that he didn't have enough dare and fearlessness in his game to really make his offensive tools shine. Hutson is already a better passer, a smarter player, and a much more deceptive and manipulative stickhandler, on top of having that fearlessness. Quinn Hughes is a closer comparative, but I'd put Hutson in the same category as Samuel Girard.

Well, if he doesn't make the NHL as a defenseman, maybe they should try him out as a forward. It would be a shame to waste that kind of talent.

Because he is short. It’s the same reason he fell to 62nd overall when he definitely could’ve been a top 10 pick if he was 6 foot. Coaches would be that defenceman under 6 foot or deny get eaten alive like they used to but that’s just not a thing anymore. An optimistic thing you can have is that his brother was about the same height at the same age and he grew to about 5 foot 11

too small weight wise. being short is manageable but at 159lbs and playing D, you will get crushed. Caufield is at 165 and gets tossed around sometimes and he is a forward. Too bad as he is definately top 10 or even top 5 talent

Lane Hutson is only 18 years old. Artturi Lehkonen was 5'9" and 161 lbs when he was 18. Lehks is now 5'11" and 180 lbs. As for Caufield he has already gained 5 lbs and he is at 170 lbs now. Give Lane a chance to see if he can grow and put on some weight over next few years. If he does, watch out for this guy.
