Being a fellow Brit from the Midlands, I have spent 1 week in Langkawi back in Jan 2017 which was one of the drier months - it was every day sun and no rain. Yes you went to Seven Wells and Temurun waterfalls but there is another one call Durian Perangi Waterfall as well. Looks like you went to Pasir Tengkorak and Tanjung Rhu beaches, and you were staying in Pantai Cenang which is where I stayed. Bit surprised that you didn't do the SkyCab/Sky Bridge as well as the Island Hopping Tour and Mangrove Tour. I also went up to the Gunung Raya Mountain at sunset for the views, did a sunset cruise, seen the Bird Wildlife Park and Underwater World aquarium too. And yes went to Eagle Square in Kuah. Even did a day trip to Koh Lipe in Thailand as well. The only thing that I didn't get to do is Jungle Trekking Tours in the evening
Haha, we are travelling round Asia for 8 months so the tours are a bit out of our budget- we only do one every now and then. We absolutely loved Langkawi though, definitely be back. With a bit more money next time! 😆😆😆
Lang in Langkawi is referring to helang in Malay, which is eagle in English...hence why there's such a huge eagle statue in the island.... Langkawi is also a home for many eagles at some point in the past, not sure if they can be spotted anymore I've stayed at Geckos... there's an air-conditioner in the dorm room 🤣..I was in the dorm alone before my country opened our border for international travellers

Hey! So I’m from England and before I left, I got my International Drivers Permit. When I rented the moped, they asked me for my ‘drivers license’ - so, I didn’t actually need to show my permit. However, if you get stopped by the police, you will need to show your IDP. Also, (I didn’t know this) but you apparently have to have your ‘Cat A’ stamped on your IDP as that means you’re allowed to ride motorbikes. In order to have the Cat A stamped, you need to be able to be allowed to ride motorbike in your country. I’ve been travelling just over a month now and haven’t been stopped once. Majority of travellers don’t even have their IPD, they just risk it. The fine for not having your IPD is only small, so do so at your own risk! Hope this helps ☺️
