Its not pankha, its pakha (ਪੱਖਾ) in punjabi. Pankha is Hindi/Urdu.

Amir, you used the wrong alphabet for Punjabi. The Punjabi script in Pakistan uses shahmukhi (which looks like Persian alphabet). The script you used was gurumukhi (which is the alphabet for Indian Punjabis and looks like Hindi). The area of Punjab is half in Pakistan and half in India.

That Punjabi you have written here is Indian Punjabi. In Pakistan, Punjabi is written with Arabic alphabets same as Persian and Urdu. On google translate the "Punjabi" you see is wriiten in "Gurmukhi" font, derived from the traditional Indian fonts used for Hindi and other Indian languages.

My mother language is Panjabi but I speak Urdu & Arabic as well, I noticed that there are words in Panjabi are basically Farsi .. like we say "zananiya" the singular for this word is "zan" which means "woman" & we also say "Ran" means "woman" too. The word "Panjab" (Panj-aab) literally means "five waters" it actally refers to the five rivers. Thank you for your time & effort for making this video.

Pakistans official languages are Urdu and English. Pakistans provincial languages are Punjabi, Pashto, Sindi, Balochi, Serikhi, Gilgiti, Potwari (Kashmiri). Urdu language has been heavily influenced by Farsi, Arabic, Turkish and some Kurdish. Urdu and Hindi are almost the same language but the written form is completely different. Urdu uses the Persian Arabic script whereas Hindi is written in the ancient Sanskirt form. Urdu itself is a Turkish word meaning Ordu which translates to military. Officially Farsi was the chosen language of the Mugul Empire but was abolished under the British. Farsi is spoken by a small proportion of Pakistans people and many poems are written in Farsi. Sometimes Farsi is referred to as Pakistans cultural language. Quranic Arabic is Pakistan's religious language. There are Pakistanis who can speak fluent Arabic due to working in several Gulf states. English is also spoken and understood amongst the elite and urban populations due to the British empire and 1.5 million people of Pakistani heritage living in the UK. Mandarin is also being taught to small sections of Pak society with the ever close business relationship with the northern neighbour China.

As a Punjabi I got all of the Farsi words. Chaman is a meadow style garden, but I suspect in modern Farsi it now means a lawn.

Urdu is the sweetest and most beautiful language in the world. Farsi is also very sweet in slightly different way. Although in my opinion Punjabi doesn't come close to Urdu/Persian but Punjabi has it's own swag, sweetness, and humor.
