The purpose of this video is to illustrate the role of the teacher in using language to support children's development. The interactions you will see include positive language, expansion, questioning, and redirection. Teachers use these techniques to expand children's knowledge, encourage complex thinking and
problem solving skills, and help children develop
appropriate behavior and positive social skills.

Good video, many thanks. Myself, homeschooled, I know English only though watching cartoons and movies which I was doing every day since early age. Usually, each day one movie, At age of 12 I began to speak as I was making videos for my channel. I still have an accent, but its ok. I saw worse here on RU-vid. This way my parents only had to turn on tv and dvd player. Hopefully this experience can be useful for some parents as I am living prove that system works.

Everything was great until I noticed they were feeding the toddlers Pop Tarts. You don't encourage junk food at such a young age. It creates bad eating habits...

This video had mostly interactions with little girls. I was waiting for conversations or play time with the boys. I have 3 nephews under 2. I grew up with 6 younger sisters. I’m not a teacher but life has taught me that there is a difference in play and attention span. The longest interaction with a little boy was with Luca and that’s because the teacher was telling him to keep his feet on the floor.

dont know why but made me sad to see such young children in the daycare. i think they belong to loving warm home than living by the regime all day everyday. i know parents probably have to work but still how it would be great for them to ve raised at home

My problem with it is that titles mean nothing. As someone who's worked in the special needs department for public schools, I've seen some things that go on behind closed doors. Not saying everyone can't be trusted, but if a child isn't old enough to speak about something inappropriate, it can be taking a risk. I wouldn't turn my infant over to someone I don't know, I don't care how pretty it looks.

I am in the early childcare sector, and what I've seen is a lot of politics infiltrated into a sector that should be totally void of it. Politics has no business in the education and raising of children. As a society, we no longer value parenting or the job that mothers in particular do (not to say that Dad's are not important, they certainly are). Little children should not be spending 5 days a week in a childcare setting for up to 10 hours a day and it's because I do care for the children at the service that I can say this. It's not because they are not well looked after, they are but we are not mum and we're not dad and most of all this is what the little ones need.

Just a couple of pet peeves: it would be best if the caregivers used good syntax when speaking to children. Saying, “Where’s the heart at” is poor syntax & teaches children to end a sentence in a prepositional phrase. Also, it teaches children poor manners to let them call adults by their first name (e.g., Miss April). They should learn proper manners and call the workers by their correct title and last name (e.g., Mrs. Smith). Otherwise a great video, thank you!
