I have shown the first video Marie's Dictionary to 1000's of students over the last 5 years; thanks for following up with this video. It is so great to see Marie, her children, grandchildren, and now great-grandchildren learning the language and keeping this rich culture alive!

Wilcox is a great-great-grandma and still has more hair than almost everyone in the world.

My explanation comparing with Korean language. 0:37 thank you = wa-ho = (나)아 (좋을)호 (= 我 好) = (na)-a (joh-eul)-ho (= a ho) ==> It can be pronounced that 아(=a) is 와(=wa) 좋(=joh) is 돟(=doh) or 둏(=dyoh) ==> Cherokee speaks Thank you is wa-do 1:35 Strap = sion-de = 선대 (= 禪帶) = seon-dae (=seon-dae) = a strap (for buddhist zen meditation to keep warm a belly or to tie up legs to boost up body condition.) - 선(=seon) is Buddhist Zen meditation - 대(=dae) is strap, belt, string. which is a long thing to tie. 1:54 sheila = draw a burden basket = 실라 (= 실어라) = sil-la (= sil-eo-la) = load 2:13 hurt throat = chekachi = 재채기 = je-che-gi = sneeze, cough 3:56 muk-me-ssi = bob haircut = 목 맵시 = mok meb-ssi = neck beautiful-and-good-looking-shape = a-beautiful-and-good-looking-shape of a neck - similar shape of words combination of 목맵시 is 몸맵시 몸맵시 = mom meb-ssi = body dressy = a-well-groomed-shape of the body - eventhou there is no word 목맵시 in modern Korean dictionary, but we know each words, 목(=mok ; neck), 맵시(=meb-ssi). If we would make a word that bob haircut is 목맵시(=mok meb-ssi), then it will be short haircut or hair style that goes down to the neck. 목맵시(=mok meb-ssi) is a good trying. 6:40 be quite = jjuk-wi = 축 위 (= 縮 唩) = chuk wi (=chuk wi) = reduce kids-crying 9:07 wa-ya-het-ji = 와야했지 = wa-ya-haet-ji = should've come 9:26 sourberry stick = dagatdi, hwiche (1) dagatdi = 다(래) 갖이(=다래 가지) = da-(le) gat-i(=da-le ga-ji) = gooseberry branch (2) hwiche = 횃채 (=회초리) = hwet che (=hoe cho-li) = The-sound-of-a-strong-wind-passing-a-little-rough a-thin-long-stick (=The-sound-of-a-strong-wind-passing-a-little-rough a-thin-sharp-tip-of-a-thing) 11:50 thread = il-lu = 일루(= 一縷) = il-lu (=il-lu) = one thread 11:52 Scissors = Meyawisi = 메/야/위/시 (=没也威勢) = mei/ya/wi/si = no/it is/fear/circumstances = it is not threat = fake threat * old word of 가위(=ga-wi, scissors) in ancient Korea 가위(=假威, ga-wi, scissors) = fake threat - reference word of 위(=威, wi) 위세(=威勢, wi-se) = fear/circumstances = authority, prestige
