Let's take an in depth look at the Lanikai LU-21C!
(This is the Concert-sized version of the regular LU-21 Soprano model, so if you're wanting a closer look at the Soprano version, you'll have to look elsewhere.)
Instrument Specs:
Nato Wood Body (front, back, and sides)
Rosewood Fingerboard and Bridge
Die-Cast Chrome Geared Tuners
Aquila Nylgut Strings
White Binding Around Body
18 Frets
Nut Width of 35 millimeters, Scale length of 15 inches
PROS: Affordability, Overall Look/Feel, Sound, Better than Soprano-Size for people with bigger hands
CONS: Craftsmanship brought to you by China, Strings coming out of tune occasionally
Summary:
This ukulele is hard to beat for the price. It IS a beginner's uke, and I would not recommend it to a seasoned ukulele-player. For someone wanting to pick up and learn to play, however, the LU-21C is perfect. Gets the job done, while looking, sounding, and playing great.

You're very welcome! That's the whole reason I made the video. I couldn't find a very thorough review of this uke on RU-vid, so I made one myself! If you have any questions about it that I didn't answer in the video please let me know!

If you have tried a tenor and it feels comfortable to you, that's what I'd go with. I have big hands and the concert size works, but there are times when I wish I would have gone with the tenor size.

It's a great starter uke, I got mine used which was great because the strings where already broken in !

I'm not sure how things differ from one to the next, but mine was not in tune out of the box. Standard ukulele tuning is GCEA. Don't worry about it though, they're super easy to tune.

From my research, the only differing factors in the Soprano and Concert models of this uke are the overall size of each and price. If you have big hands like me, a concert size or even bigger might be the way to go. If your hands are small, the Soprano should be fine. And, of course, the Soprano costs $50 less than the Concert so keep that in mind.

Trust me, you're no bother at all! This is why I made this video-- to showcase the pros and cons of the LU-21C. Whichever route you choose to take, good luck with your future uke endeavors!

I'm kind or skeptical though. I strummed a soprano and it felt too small and the strings felt too loose but i tuned it with a tuner. And i strummed my friends tenor (only for like a minute) and it sounded a lot better than the cheap soprano i had. I'm just afraid that the tenor (LU21-T) would no longer sound as "ukulele-ish" as the concert. And if that's the case then I would get a concert(Lanikai LU21-C). Sorry for bothering, i'm starting out and I want to make sure I get a good uke. Thanks!

I'm debating on whether to get this, or the soprano version as my first uke, what should I get?

Should I get a this in a concert size or tenor size. I've tried strumming a tenor and I liked it, but i'm not sure if my hands are too small for a tenor. My hands are 7" length and 4" width. Thanks!

the strings need to stretch its something that happens to nylon strings

You're pronouncing it wrong. Lanikai is pronounced LAH-KNEE-KAI. Learn some Hawaiian, Ha'ole. LOL

I apologize man. I was just pronouncing it the way I had heard others say it. I'll do more research next time.. Sorry about that!
