Today I am going on a long awaited botanical tour at the Lankester Botanical garden in Cartago, Costa Rica. This Botanical garden was opened in 1940 and was started by Englishman, Charles "Don Carlos" Lankester. Don Carlos was not a professional botanist, although he managed to create an outstanding collection of tropical plants, with an emphasis on epiphytic plants. This botanical garden has over 3000 pants species, and among those, 1000 orchid species; 100 of which are miniature orchids. This Garden has one of the most important and extensive miniature orchid collection in the world. Come and take a tour in this wonderful little Oasis filled with AMAZING plants.
