Wow, not bad for the price. Anamorphics have sure come a long way in the last 5-10 years I'd say, in regards to price conscious products. Lenses, cameras, gear, everything. Once upon a time, not even that long ago, filmmaking was reserved for the few who could afford it. Profoundly different story now. Thanks for the reviews, Dom!
I like your suggestion on pairing them with a prime which was my plan as well. I was hoping they were closer to the Proteus than the Nanomorphs character wise (and flare wise). And since I'm still undecided between the Remus and Proteus, I love that you mention the Remus as well plus some post barrel dist
Thank you so much for making this! In my opinion, this is the best review/test of these lenses. I learned pretty much everything I need to know right here. I personally think the 50-100 is alright for the price. But I'm also convinced the 28-55 is a miss. There is just too much weird unflattering distortion with that one.
Thank you for doing this test. So glad I don't have to suffer through that dude Tito sneaking in politics into his gear reviews. Very informative stuff about sensor coverage and the bokeh and close focus look amazing. The flares look a little like a cheap flare filter to me, but seems like a fair trade off for the price. Great review ya'll
I got crazy idea for an experiment: how would it look it you mounted a 1.5x adapter (like the Aivascope or Blazar Nero) on it, rotated vertically? In thory the squeeze factors should "cancel" each other, making it look an extra-funky spherical lens, but would it work?
I notice that it has different pin cushion distortion on different focal lengths, i’m ok with barrel but this would be frustrating to fix pin cushions that are different on different focal lengths
