But far the best general guide for everyone that comes to this track. Itll be slightly different if you weigh significantly more of less than Brad but this definitely has the most level of detail. A consistent karter on this track would have nailed the braking.

Do you always go 100% on the brake pressure, then 0%? Is there any inbetween?
@BradPhilpot
@BradPhilpot 4 месяца назад
Oh it’s never 100% - the image is just to illustrate when I’m braking, not how much.

Nice! Can I ask, what seat position you use? Many thanks!
@BradPhilpot
@BradPhilpot 8 месяцев назад
I move the seat depending on what the kart needs. If understeer is the main issue then I move further forwards etc
@DrR1pper
@DrR1pper 8 месяцев назад
@@BradPhilpot that makes sense. I imagine though that when doing that, you're only moving the seat a maximum of 1 position more forwards of backwards from the average or typical seating position you use? Do you know what that average/typical position would be?

I did a 44.4 but did it a bit differently. Especially under the bridge, I think we have different approaches.

How much do you weigh?
@mihaiserbanescu8676
@mihaiserbanescu8676 8 месяцев назад
@@BradPhilpot about 57 kg, I think.
@BradPhilpot
@BradPhilpot 8 месяцев назад
@@mihaiserbanescu8676that’s about right then. On a 30 second lap, every 10kg = roughly 0.3s. This is a 44 second lap so that’s more like 0.4s and you’re 15kg lighter than me, so it’s actually more like 0.5/0.6. 🏁
@mihaiserbanescu8676
@mihaiserbanescu8676 8 месяцев назад
@@BradPhilpot wow! you think it makes that much of a difference? I never thought it would be quite that much, maybe 0.1 or 0.2 s.
@BradPhilpot

Yeah, I've seen the test conducted several times over the years by adding weight in 5kg increments. When you plot it on a graph, it's almost a dead straight line. Very linear and consistent. 10kg = 0.3s on a 30s lap. And by coincidence, it's the same figure in F1, although there it's 10kg = 0.3s in a 90s lap. @@mihaiserbanescu8676

whats the lap record ?
@BradPhilpot
@BradPhilpot Год назад
I don’t know - but I guarantee it won’t have been set at 73kg! Likely a regular driver on a members’ night (when the track is at its fastest) weighing somewhere around 50kg.
@JCP_YEERP
@JCP_YEERP Год назад
@bradphilpot your are actually quite wrong, it has been set by I believe a guy at 75-85kg ,miles Nathan James ,honestly ask any of the staff at docklands they will tell u he is just different gravy he’s had lap records for god knows how long and has stayed about 0.5 away from everyone else I only know this as I’ve karted here for few years 👍🏻 ps he did his best time on a open session
@BradPhilpot
@BradPhilpot Год назад
@@JCP_YEERP in that case, the record is up for grabs when a good light person has a go! Every 10kg is worth 0.3s on a 30s lap, so it should be possible to go significantly faster than someone who set a time at 75-85kg
@MXFlamez
@MXFlamez 8 месяцев назад
@@JCP_YEERP Well now its set by a junior driver called Rudi Cruz and is currently the only driver to have set a 42s time at docklands 😅
