I had this same problem when my friend introduced me to valorant... I was talking to him on discord and being all weird when he said "bro... They can hear you" and i had no idea how to turn the mic off. Was a lot more awakrd than this though I remember distinctly saying out loud "huihui im coming on my horse" before i knew my mic was on (its an inside joke and i was talking to my friend but they only heard me cause he was muted in game). They were just silent too they didn't even acklownedge it. I mustve looked so weird. I still cringe at that
