Thanks for the video. Just avoid using a metal object to open these components. Use plastic or wood.

Hey can you do antanne replacement video. both my hinges were broken i replaced left one looking at this video which was a massive help. i looked everywhere on the interent there's no video of antanne replacement. There's none

You must replace the screen on your A1398 mid 2012 MacBook Pro with an identical screen for a mid 2012 A1398 MacBook pro.

I have a MacBook Pro RETINA 15 inch with the coating problem, but I don't see the use of your video if just the glass surface isn't available on your site. Yes you can by juist the LCD (but that works fine in my MB) but not just the glass surface! :(

Unfortunately the surface glass is the first layer of the LCD in all Retina MacBooks. Apple replaces the entire display assembly to address the disintegrating coating issue.

You can try using Listerine to remove surface coating problem.

Is it possible to replace just the rubber gasket around the screen, and if so does that require a full disassembly?

The gasket goes under the LCD, so you'll have to perform all the steps in this video to replace the gasket together with a new LCD matrix.

I don't think it would work using the original gasket, since most of it needs to go under the glass. You could try using Sugru, it's a moldable silicon-type stuff that cures into flexible rubber-like substance: www.amazon.com/dp/B089WHGQDP/

Its a gap. Removing the gasket was a mistake in retrospect. Try leaving it on. Otherwise you'd need to source another gasket, use Sugru instead or live with the gap.

LaptopScreen.com actually I manage to get a replacement gasket. But doesn't have the courage to try open the lcd

@@suffianums it's possible to reinstall without opening anything else. Simply squeeze it there with soft plastic tool
