Thanks for the video! You asked why anyone would want to remove the screen if it's not broken. The answer is to replace the right monitor hinge, because it cannot be replaced without removing the monitor (one of the cables that's part of the hinge assembly runs underneath the monitor).

Very well done tutorial. The metal spudger looks very similar, if not identical, to some that I bought at a flea market decades ago, the man said they were used for sculpting wax. Used them for final assembly on motorcycle engines.

Hello Dear As you have mentioned the camera light issue, the same problem i am facing with the screen assembly i bought on ebay, i think because of the screen not fixed properly the light of the screen reflects on camera damaging image clearity, when i pushed screen back from the camera side its getting clear otherwise its not.

Hi Milan, nice video. I need the rubber trim to be replaced on a late 2012 retina MacBook Pro 15". It has become brittle over time and it is falling apart. The screen is perfect. I understand that when you do a screen replacement, having the rubber trim attached to the panel is critical for centering the lcd panel in place. In my case, do you think it can be done without removing the lcd panel and working the rubber into place? How much would it cost to do it?

are there ungenuine screen replacements seen, might any quality difference spotted on parts available?

What thickness is the 5mm double sided tape you are using? It doesn't look like the average tape you get from Home Depot or Office Max.

My display is not cracked, I was thinking of changing the back cover to get rid of the dents that the previous owner put in it... I'm not thinking of doing that anymore... Now to find a cheap complete display with the updated coating that doesn't flake off (mine is a mid-2015, so it already has that, but the older ones were crap)...

I think you have answered the question but just to clarify: Are all the retina LCD panels the same from 2012 - mid 2014. I.e. can any LP154WT1 (SJ) A1 or A3 be purchased to replace a broken LCD, backlight is working on a 15" mid 2014 macbook pro retina?

i have the a1398. my screen is perfect, but the glass is messed up in some areas from using the wrong cleaner(something other than water like they tell you, yes im stupid) Can this be replaced?

If the webcam cable breaks (the part that plugs into the logic board is kind of fragile), you would need to take out the screen to replace the cable.

Hi Milan, my camera on my A1398 laptop stopped working after replacing a speaker. I may have damaged the cable while removing it, as the camera ID still shows up in the system information, but the green camera light blinks and the camera is black. There is no visible damage to the cable. I've tried doing an SMC battery reset and nothing solves the black screen. To replace the Camera cable I would have to remove the LCD as you are doing in this video. What would you charge for this repair? I have a new camera cable, is it worth trying to do myself? I'm assuming I'd need to buy a new LCD as I'd crack it removing the original. I can not find a new LCD for the A1398 anywhere online, only the full-screen assembly. Would you recommend just replacing the whole assembly? Of course, that would be the most expensive way. Please let me know what you would recommend. Thank you.

Question: There are different versions of LCD for A1398? I've installed quite a few different models and this one too. But I think I installed the wrong LCD, it no woking (Chinese voice). Bitch. So I have to uninstall a good LCD? Shit! No. I'll overnight the lid and keep this together to reuse. LVDS cable are all that shit are the same no? LP154WT1(SJ)(AV) is what I tried to put into A1398 EMC 2881. co2p7bblg3qd No wokey.
