The music of Broken Vow was co-composed by Walter Afanassiev and Lara Fabian, inspired by a classic piece of Rachmaninoff (Piano Concerto N°2 in C Minor). Walter Afanassiev, an american/brazilian from russian descent, is a legendary composer and producer (he composed some of the greatest initial hits of Mariah Carey such as All I Want for Christmas is You and was the producer of the Titanic soundtrack that brought Celine Dion to WW fame). He is also now the producer of Dimash for his US career. When this song was composed, Walter and Lara were engaged, but apparently he cheated and she decided to break up. When she took this decision, that she knew would dramatically change both her personal and professional destiny, she wrote these incredible lyrics. Lara has said this is her preferred english song from all the songs she wrote in this language (there are many, and some are pure jewels). One reason is also because this song has then been covered by the greatests: - Barbra Streisand (she performed it in concerts from one of her tour but never recorded it), - Josh Groban (his cover made this song famous in US), - Morissette Amon, - Cakra Khan, - Regine Velasquez, - Almira (from 4th Impact), - Katrina Velarde, - Julie Anne San Jose, - Sarah Geronimo, - Petra Berger, - Harrison Craig, - Rimar, - Jackie Evancho, - … Regarding Jackie Evancho, and at the request of Jackie's parents who found the original lyrics were not a good fit for a young girl, Lara rewrote Broken Vow in french as "Imaginer" with a complete different meaning.

Her diction is amazing for a non Anglo. What a stunning voice she has this woman.

Lara is still very active, her voice still grandiose , her look spectacular, She,s got a new world tour starting in april 2024, mostly Europe and mid/Asia after in June its in Canada Ottawa, Montréal. Québec city and Trois-Rivière, I've got my tickets for the 2 shows in Montréal, can't wait. Maybe some venues in the USA for 2025, to be announce later on...?

Très grand fan de lara fabian depuis ces débuts. Magnifique chanson ,interprétation superbe, magnifique, pas de mots pour décrire suffisamment beaux. C est dommage que ce n est que maintenant que son énorme talent est vraiment très reconnu. Elle a su toucher par sa voie , sa sensibilité, et par ses soutiens dans le monde ( covid notamment ) et son grand soutien aux personnels de santé. Merci beaucoup à elle.

She's incredible. There is one song in French she wrote and sang for her mother. It's called « L'oubli » (forgetfulness, it's about her mom's disease). It's a video clip but it's very emotional and powerful.
