@@chancyzone Yours is a bit of a misplaced comparison. If that is the case give would take the "cheap", ( down to earth?) Southern college girl Lara, any time in preference to the " chic" ( all appearance and no substance?) Dion. As a matter of fact you only have to skim the surface to see which of the two has had a better education.
@@jak30341 I've come to think that people just have different ears, they do not hear things the same. I love Pavarotti and Lara, I can't stand Celine and Bocelli, their voices irritate me. I know people for whom it's the other way around.
JESUS ! I never heard of her or her music and just heard ‘Je Suis Malade’ Live and now this ‘Calling You’ (from the movie ‘Baghdad Cafe’ AND IM TELLING YOU I thought Celine Dion the greatest female singer AND now another greatest female singer: LARA FABIAN 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼❤️❤️❤️Belgian father, Sicilian mother ; speaks 7 languages
She can sing in 12 languages! She's also a multi-genre artist. Her Mademoiselle Zhivago concert is incredible and they made a movie out of 8 of the songs where she does her own stunts and dancing. I highly recommend checking both of them out. And then there's hidden gems like this one, she does crazy things in a chair! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--85T-iR7dfc.html
I discovered Fabian just over a year ago through Je Suis Malade, picked my jaw up off the floor, started digging and haven't come up from the rabbit hole since. I don't even like sopranos! My heart belongs to contraltos! But it appears my soul belongs to Lara Fabian, singer, songwriter, polyglot. 😂
the ease she with which she sings is beyond anything I have ever seen or heard; for me, Lara Fabian is by a long way not only the best female singer but is on the podium as one of the best anyone singers in my lifetime - to paraphrase a famous movie quote "she had me from the first belt" - love your heartfelt reaction/reviews !
I love that look you always give when something suprising happens. Lara always has something dramatic in all her performances hhahahaha. Great reaction, bro.
Thank you for this reaction! Fedor Ivanov has just already said, much better, what I would have liked to say about this concert. I think it was the best live concert Lara has ever performed. One of the performances you will be acquainted with was her famous "Je Suis Malade" when she sang at the end without microphone collapsing at the end on the stage. She decided for this concert to work with a completely stripped down band, consisting of only piano, with Pierre Grimard, and an all-female string quartet and to concentrate on the art of performance. A marvellous concert one can watch so many times and each time come out feeling so uplifted!
It is not all about vocal technique or resonance. It is about performing. Lara is simply one of the best at this level, with the Streisand and few more.
celine's s notes are more piercing and with more support in the C5 note... on her chest voice, lara here tries to sound like celine but in a head version;; because she can't maintain this clear and powerful power like celine on C5 ... we call it the squillo voice
Tbh I never really interested watching someone (singer/band) full concert before but Lara is the only exception, her live performance in - en toute intimité - is one of a kind, heck i don't even speak 11 languages like Lara did but still, she is very captivating indeed, u should watch it too in ur spare time but don't forget to record it 😂
I remember this song was sang and performed by the late George Michael in one his concerts. Beautiful song and Late Fabian sang it beautifully, stylishly and full of emotions. Bravo, Miss Lara. ♥️ Thank you for your super reaction.
Man if she was a good riffer I would've died when she combined her dynamics with amazing abilities. I love how instead of letting her voice be open on ooo she made it sound so emotional by tightening up the sound.
Hey Adam thanks for all your reactions to my all time favorite Lara Fabian!!! ❤️ Love your reactions so much!!! I would really appreciate if you reacted to some of the performances from Lara Fabian Live show 2002. The whole show was genuinely amazing, Lara is absolutely brilliant in every performance. I tried to pick most favorite songs of mine from that very concert: 1. J’y crois encore ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-as-_S9tGc_8.html 2. Thanks for the reaction. you're the best. I expect more from Lara fabian. greetings from Mexico. Maybe you can translate the video in different languages please.
Heyhey, after the Voice Canada, Lara is doing The voice France this year as a coach. This is an opening performance with the 4 couches. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vIphyqYsfaI.html Lara is killing it! I love that woman so much! Just saw her in Brussels this January. Man....if you have the chance to see her Live....you should go! Greets from Belgium
This is the link for Lara Fabian's live, wordless "Vocalise" .I recommended you compare this to Dimash's later versions called "Ascolta La Voce", and then "Know". The video clip of Lara also includes some excerpts from the film Madamoiselle Zhivago, ( consisting of a dozen or so songs sung by her and in which she acted the female parts). ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VEW8ToKrAeU.html
Thank you for reacting to Lara Fabian, please react to more of hers songs. Could you please react to "Love is like a dream" or Llora" or Mademoiselle Hyde, or her new songs like - Choose What You Love Most (Let It Kill You) - (Official Video) or Lara Fabian - Growing Wings (Official Video)
Thank you for this reaction! I agree with every word you say, she is phenomenal when it comes to mixing resonance with power, emotion, grace and tenderness at the same time! I would also ask her to react to one of her "mature" videos, the song is "Angels Pass Away." Would like to see you reacting to it: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8CrXQEAdxj4.html :)
yes it looks like on the big note; "ahhhhhhhh" the C5 are the same ... but that of celine will be slightly thicker and open on chest mask t! that of lara is more resonant in the thorax throat .. but they look like
Personally, I prefer the live performance where she sings the song with the original singer, Jevetta Steele, together with a choir of 500 children. I think it was in a benefit show for the Red Cross. Lara sings it "more or less the same way" as in the performance you react to here, but to me the "gospel sound" of Jevetta, together with the choir, gives me those extra chills... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AfAzK85Si64.html Another version of the song that touches a lot of people is the rendition by Jeff Buckley (a promising artist that unfortunately died at a very young age): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lOFmZ3WlTBE.html Just my opinion, though...
while waiting for lara fabian on calling you ' doesn't keep her chest voice as powerful on C5 from start to finish as celine!! we see it very clearly here, she races in her head or variations of notes to hide she is incapable of holding the road!!! ^^ Merry Christmas anyway my baby boy
Laura sings it pretty but nobody sings it more powerful and stronger then the original jevetta steele who sung it for the movie bagdad cafe when jevetta sings it you feel it from your soul that song won a Grammy for that movie😍😍
Finally here it is Glennis grace original. Sung and written by miss grace herself. Its called Emphaty. Hope you like it. Heres the link ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KvGZs_l2ngQ.html
Could you please react to this powerful song, "Running" sung by Lara at Krutoy's concert in November this year? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-l2Z6jk7w_Bs.html. It tells of the conflict between reason and the motions, with Lara's advice to let the emotions and heart rule over the mind's doubts, and damn the consequences!
I love Lara but for me she cannot do calling you the same way Celine they are two different people in other words so as a Celine fan I say she did this her own way
celine's s notes are more piercing and with more support in the C5 note... on her chest voice, lara here tries to sound like celine but in a head version;; because she can't maintain this clear and powerful power like celine on C5 ... we call it the squillo voice

She has a gorgeous voice but I definitely prefer Celine's interpretation of the song. This one felt a little over the top with no clear connection to the song whereas Celine's was simple, direct and straight to the point. Celine was very selective with her choice of runs and they complimented the feel of the song whereas Lara kinda just sings all over the place. Nice riffs and runs but no real thought about how to place them within the song which left her having to think about when to breathe multiple times
How did you know this is a tribute to Celine? The song is not Celine's, it performs a cover. The original version was sung by Jevetta Steele. The song is from the movie "Bagdad Cafe" en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calling_You

There's no need to shade an artist for praise another one. If you don't like Céline's version, just say it, but don't say that she is cold as ice when hundreds of thousands of people are moving by her version.
Well, I am not shading an artist to praise another one; that is my impression, my opinion and I respect if you have a different one. I just share my feeling when I listen the song. I love Celine and She have been my number 1 since I know her, but sorry, I do not feel anything when she sing "Calling you" , just respect my opinion, do not accuse me for doing something that I am not doing. Be tolerant please.
I'm sorry but I disagree. Celine had direction and sang this song with far more care and feeling. She didn't overload the song with riffs and runs. Rather, she strategically placed each run in the right place, never overdoing it and letting the song speak for itself. She also kept the bts simple but powerful Lara on the other hand overdid it with this song. At times her voice was everywhere and it seemed like she just wanted to display her vocal abilities rather than focus on the song

^^ voila ^^
I notice a couple of distort on her voice like at 2:00 and 3:15, or onless i did not like. I love Laura’s voice, but i give this covered song to Céline, it’s my opinion.

She even tried to sing this like Celine, and she failed miserably (she even got out of tune twice). I love her and i love her voice to be honest, but this one goes to Celine even tho she sang it all while sitting on a chair 😅

fix you are welcome to think whatever you want but if you listen to both vocalists (maybe their other respective songs each) then you will hear that they sound different, Lara’s voice is much thicker with a warmer tone, Celine has a brighter and thinner tone. Both have astonishing talent
@@jak30341 Exactly. Their tones are totally different. Their techniques too. I really don't understand how they can be mistaken by some people... They sound really different to me. 🤔
@@ifyoucanttakeitback615 but in terms of power, resonance, melisma, belting ability and control over their voice, correct they are very similar. Nobody sounds like Celine's melisma though or how fast she runs in her head voice. And Lara seems to have more ease with higher belts but both are much older now, this recording is dated many years. Celine mixes much more now and not sure about Lara, haven't heard her in some time.
