I've listened to many different versions of this song, but for me this is by far the best. This performance is perfection.

Caruso, is an italian song, written, composed and performed in 1986 by Lucio Dalla as a tribute to Enrico Caruso, the most famous tenor of his time (late 19th / early 20th century). He was the first global singing superstar. The story is about the last days of Enrico Caruso, he knows he is dying, and he is remembering all his career on stage and telling his much younger wife how much he loves her. It has very quickly become a classic of italia music and the biggest names have covered it (Julio Iglesias, Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban, …. and of course Luciano Pavarotti). I was told that Lucio Dalla himself, after hearing this performance, said that she made it her song and this is the best version he has heard from it. For Lara, this song is really important as this is a kind of anthem for Italy, and she is so much connected to this country. She spent the first few years of her life there with her sicilian mother and grandma. Her husband is also sicilian. She also as been living there for the past few months since the end of 2022.

I really enjoyed this reaction 😊 I agree with Lara, this is one of the most beautiful songs ever written❤ I first heard it in the late 90’s, by a 13 year old Italian boy. Both me and my boyfriend (who also loves it) tried to find the song, but it was impossible. Because we had forgotten what the song was called, and this was before we could rewind on tv and before Lara’s version. I hadn’t even heard of Lara. When Lara released “I will love again” I instantly loved her voice, and then she sang “Caruso”, and my boyfriend and I was overwhelmed❤️ So this song means a lot to me, and I really love Italy. So another beautiful Italian song is “Perdere L’amore”, love it❤️

This song is usually associated with the late Luciano Pavoratti, one of the greatest tenors in history, but after hearing Lara Fabian performing her rendition I cannot think of " Carusso " without hearing Lara in my heart - she puts so much emotion into each word that I feel the sorrow L. Dahla wrote into his lyrics and LIVES the story without vocal acrobatics opera singers tend to perform.

Angie sweetheart I have never met a gentle soul like you. I subscrided immediately though I am very difficult in that. It is a huge injustice for you not to have the followers you deserve. Unless you started recently as a music reactor. Lara is an incredible and adorable creature but I am not sure she will be able to know when and how to withdraw from singing. Because she accepts every invitation from the media and sings even a cappela whatever she is asked to sing. I mean I like an artist to be more "valuable" instead of an alcoholic for publicity.
