Lara Fabian - Evergreen (First Time Reaction) 

the biggest difference betwen Lara Fabian and other singers is this; most singers sing you "just a song", Lara sings for you "a story".

Dear Brandon, congrats for the 20 thousand followers, it was about time. Lara is not just an artist. She is a real survivor. As far as I know she has lost baby, she had lost her voice, she faced cancer and she has overcome quite enough professional and personal tragedies including her suicidal thoughts on her way back from USA to Europe. She did all that in her own way and also with a little help from her friends and fans. Especially her victory over suicidal thoughts was because of her incredible fans in Paris 2001 concert. They reconstructed her psychology and maybe saved her life as she admitted later. A historical concert. Which if I am not mistaken you insist on ignoring it. Instead of presenting it and commending the songs one by one. Miss Fabian is not only an artist. We would love her even if she wasn't an astonishing performer. We first of all love her soul which is permanently written on her face with no second thoughts. And then we focus on what she is singing to us. Hugs. Greece

Lara Fabian the woman of my Dreams. She is brilliant.❤️ I think this video is from 2002. She broke up from Rick Allison in The beginning of 2003..so maby you are right that she was not feeling ok...but its a long shot. I think she hade a serious illnes by this time as well..This was not so good years for her..All the struggle made her to the strong woman she is today..Thank god.

if I am not mistaken, this song is the last song Barbra sang in a "star is born" . its not a happy song, but a song after she lost her love- so its kind of a reminder to happy days....

Barbra Streisand was supposed to be at this event and sing this song, but she made a last minute call canceling her participation at, then th Maestro John, whom already had met and worked with Lara 2 years before, because they both recorded together the song FOR ALWAYS, for the movie (A. I artificial Intelligence ) from Steven Spielberg and himself called her to invite her to sing the main song of his movie. Lara was supposed to participate at this event only singing the song FOR ALWAYS along with Josh Groban, when she was taken by surprise by the Maestro's request: he informed her that Barbra Streisand had canceled her participation and he knew that Lara was the perfect person to go up on stage and replace Barbra singing her own song, Lara had not rehearsed with the musicians or with the Maestro at all, right after this performance, she returned to the stage, this time with Josh Groban (who later revealed in an interview in front of Lara that he was very nervous about singing with her, specially a song a song that she had recorded on her own way and PLUS for a Spielberg movie, but that she held his hand and said "You're a great singer, we'll be alright together.") And those words gave him more courage the moment he was on stage with her. Lara said more details about that night and her duet with Josh Groban during an interview on a French TV program where Josh Groban also was invited and they sang together there as well). PS: Do you know that both (Josh Groban and Barbra) made a cover of Lara's song Broken Vow? Lara and Barbra also sang together during David Foster's marriage after party. You are very perceptive. This was from 2002 and she was in a really bad place (mentally) at this time. She is a survivor. One of the best singers ever and still is.

She's off because she knows she has to sing with Josh Groban later in this concert. Hahaha Sorry, not a Groban fan. All joking aside, I've always resented John Williams' choice to slow down the tempo so much in this Boston Pops version. Lara did the best with what she was given. David Foster did the same thing when Lara joined him for Caruso at Mandalay Bay: the tempo is just too slow and dragging. For a much better live emotional rendition of Evergreen, watch Lara's version where she's singing over an ice skating performance. As for what was going on in Lara's life at this time: she was probably starving! This was during the US promotion of her first English album, at which time Sony heavily pressured her to lose weight resulting in her subsequent bulimia issues.

If I'm not mistaken this was during the time when Her and Walter Afanasieff relationship came to an end. I know she thought they were gonna get married at some point. This performance is from 2002 I believe.

what i saw is Lara embodying the song as someone talking to her one true love, and performing a Streisand song with an orchestra when it's being recorded can explain batting away that pesky hair strand that almost makes you fall out of your character
