In france we like more interpretation than singers with out emotion if you pick back every singers 20years they was all singing that way. Now they all wanna look like americans singers with the perfection. BUT some hope is coming back again that way of singing.
@@ismailreborn1259 Yes, but the lyrics in english doesn't give justice to this song... french words and expressions are far stronger than most of the translations I saw on the net...
@@ismailreborn1259 Yeah, but "malade" is not just about "sick". It's also use for ilness, sad, mad, even mental issues ! And some words just don't have a translation, like "je crèverai", who isn't just "I'll die". It's so more, it's like "die alone and miserable, like a rat, in a pathetic way".
At 3:40: "cet amour me tue" (this love is Killing me) gets me every thime!... I feel it in my bones!... So pure, so rich, so smouth, so emotional… Just this part tells it all...
Most singers get up on stage and sing a song then they leave the stage. And you'll forget about it the next morning. Lara, as usual, but especially in this, has lived a lifetime with this performance. The weight and emotion in her performance can't be faked. She isn't merely reciting the lyrics, she's lived it. You can feel every inch, every centimeter of each note she breathes. Awesome, awesome performance. She is the rare singer that I would say can go head to head with Ms. Dion. And quite honestly, I don't know who's better. Celine's technique and power is unquestioned. Her ability to take any song and make it a million times better just by her vocal abilities is what makes her a true legend. Lara's emotions, however, is, you're right, next level. NEXT LEVEL. She doesn't give a damn about how she looks or projects herself, she's not even there on stage anymore. She's living the song far far away. Every heartbreak, every heartache is right there. Few singers are willing to be that emotionally naked on stage, and it's an incredible gift that we're able to witness such a raw performance from a singer like Lara everytime she's on stage. Honestly, I don't even think Celine is willing to go there sometime. If ever. Lara Fabian is next level, man. She is a true artist, if there's ever one. The world isnt ready for her. It doesn't know how to deal with a true talent like this.
I always say about Lara......That while many people sing songs very well, hit big notes, long note holds etc, Lara literally becomes the song.........Her emotive abilities and incredible vocals have no equal. She's amazing.
That final belt had the duration of 12 seconds which shows she mastered the diaphragm contraction technique in order to brush it off like this . We are not talking about just another random nice to hear kitty that is meowing here , this diva is a lyric Soprano , song writer , composer , speaks and sings to at least 9 languages but her strongest characteristic in her performances is what you mentioned as well ...she is in the zone as long as she is on stage !
🎼🎤✨I TOTALLY AGREE. She is the most phenomenal female singer I have ever heard. Mind you there are other great singers, but my opinion, there's no one that can touch her, and this is just one of her songs that proves my opinion. I hope you continue to enjoy MS LARA FABIAN✨🎤
Lara Fabian immerses herself into whatever she is singing more than any I have seen. Her power is second to none and her technical skills are nearly perfect. She has become my favorite singer.............simply the most believable singer for me.
I love you reaction, Lara is amazing i love all her songs, but this song i hear a million times and i feel the same my heart, my skin shake!! She is the best!!
The word : Huge, that's it ! And when you have the chance to understand french and the -so beautiful- words of this song of Serge Lama, it's a gift ! Love ;-)
it's so emotional, it's very famous here where we speak french, it says: "i'm sick of love, it's been 2 years and you don't care, i drink all the nights, and all the whisky have the same taste, i'm like a dead bird when you leave, this love kill me, and if it continue i'll die alone"
I can see she was somewhere else...in a place where it be ame godly....she is godly when she sings....one of the most beautiful voices in the world...if not the best voice
Lara is Sensational!!! She and Dimash are friends and he has sung some of the songs she made popular and wrote the lyrics to. Dimash grew up listening to her and she inspired him!!! :) Blessings..... :)
You should have choosen the video with subtitles. Then you'll know that emotions were not just next level. She did not just sang. She acted and almost lived that character
Lara Fabian is Amazing! Maybe you could react to the later versions of Je suis Malade. Those get me everytime, the part without the mic blow me away! Or Broken vow is Crazyyy! That song is of the freaking chain! And Love by Grace is also insane! Way too under rated. One of the best voices of this generation!!
The French storytelling history is kinda vaguely a lil bit like the US country one, but not rhe same. The speaking during the song, etc., so classic. She was GREAT, I didn't expect that.
"Je suis malade" is a classic. Lara is one of the best! Her song "Tout" was the very first song that I learned from top to finish and sang in public when I was a little girl. I know that she was very criticized at some point for being a powerful vocalist and being too dramatic. But I've always been a huge fan of big voices like Mariah, Whitney, Celine and others so... it's never affected my judgment of her.
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 She sings with such emotions. Don't know what she says but she got me into tears. She sings in 7 different languages! Totally awesome! Hands down for Lara Fabian
French song written by Alice Dona, music composed by Serge Lama, this song is a classic of French song, taken by Lara at its beginnings, this interpretation allows to better understand the density of interpretations of Lara, his extended and rich vocal range . .... thanks for sharing 😊🎶👍😘
Lara is amazing and underrated worldwide. She should be considered as one of the Vocal Trinity along with Celine, Mariah and Whithey - but then it would be Vocal Quartet :) React to her slaying version of Vision of Love - to be honest i even prefer her verion over Mariah's :) PLEASE
@@Mohamedmifxal Lara isn't superior vocally. She's on their level (almost). Success-wise, sadly, Lara can't handle a candle near them. But she's a Legend nonetheless
@@EHYHDY The emotional and history-telling and in fact also performance expression(probably as equally as Dimash in that regard) part of the trinity or top 5 she is THE head of the best vocalists around the world✌👍💎🌈🙂😅😌🙃
Lara has a new English CD Camouflage.... coming out in 2017!.... and a world tour to follow in 2018! She is finally getting the recognition and appreciation she deserves 😎 Thanks for the video 🎤
Raymond Tung Yes! She was awesome in concert voice and technique as great as ever! Her voice has mature in depth since this video but who’s hasn’t? :-)
I only recently discovered this gem (the artist, the song and this performance in particular) but I can say that the first time I had my mouth open, second time I teared up, and I still get teary at certain points of the song because it's such a powerful performance! If I have to pick a favorite moment it's when she sings about being like a dead bird and makes that face as if disgusted and slides her thumb across her throat, that really gets to me!
Bonjour cette chanson est parfaitement interprètée lara transmet des émotions exactes de cette chanson passion colère tragédie courage résilience oh my God thank you good day all people kiss and love all people
It was more than a try actually it was well said in French good job I love your show From Montreal Quebec Canada xxxx by the way I saw here live 3 times and I cried everytime she is so nice no wonder why Dimash loves her .
Lara Fabian’s career: 1988: first tv appearance at the Eurovision Song Contest, ended at the 4th place and she was represented Luxemburg 1991: first album called Lara Fabian in Quebec 1994: second album Carpe diem 1996: “pure “ sold 5 millions copies worldwide in francophone countries. 1999: first English album Lara Fabian, sold 3 millions copies. 2001: “Nue” 2004: second English album “wonderful life” 2005: “9” 2009 : TLFM 2013: Le secret 2015: La vie dans la tienne 2017: Third English album Camouflage 2019: Papillon
Please read the lyrics of this song, and you will understand why it is so emotionally charged. Je suis malade means I am sick. Lara wasn't just singing, she was living the song on stage! Beautiful performance indeed.
Yep! It's so great to see other people react to this song while she's singing it; I remember the first time I came across it, this is pretty much what I looked like :) And when you listen to the original by Serge Lama (who wrote it) and then Dalida, Lara's version is so different and much more dramatic.
MAN... THANK YOU. I just think I woke up this day in heaven... First, Celine has performance yesterday a new song, and it was so undescribably beautiful... I just cried... And then, this. You reacted to the song that I've requested the most! I have no words... I'm just trembling.
The song is signed by Serge Lama . It’s a classic in France . The better female singer was Dalida . It’s the story of woman let alone by his man . The song is a very very sad song. Dalida who was a star but had a sad life cryed when she was singing this song . Excuse me if I do errors in english ! Hope you understand me ...
Lara’s Version is incomparable. But their is an Internationally known world class 4 member crossover vocal harmony group from South Korea called “Forestella” with millions of followers and they give an incredible performance of je suis Malade. Your goosebumps will have goosebumps! And your face might be inundated with tears. It’s a sad song and they illicit the sadness but their harmonies are angelic. Their mother tongue is korean and they probably spent months training for this and mastering French and performed it in front of their home crowd of thousands of fans. You tube “Forestella Je Suis Malade” You will thank me if you do react publicly or if your subscribers privately react. All love, All
This quartet sings very well and it is very difficult to compare their version with Lara's as a soloist. Anyway, in my opinion, Lara's version is on the peak of Everest.
18 secs ! If you knew the translation you'd see where that emotion comes from, She does covers but almost all of her music she writes and composes.... You should see her at the piano... I love me some Adele but I am in love with this woman. She sings in 10 different languages. I just gave myself goosebumps.
Je suis malade is a song of Serge Lama, a french star . The best performance is Dalida, another french star in the 70ies . The song is about a wife who is now alone because her love left her . This song is one of the most beautiful french song . It's really really sad .
You can just tell that singing this song takes it out of her, emotionally and vocally. Afterwards, it's like she's slipped back into our dimension and seems almost confused as to what happened and why she feels so empty thereafter.
I absolutely love her voice and her emotion. The piano in this is exquisite. I do not speak French (wish I did, for there are so many french songs I love). I checked with the web site "Lyrics Translate" and I can tell you that Je Suis Malade - means " I am ill." Am trying to learn the language, but it's not easy. By the way, Lara made the song "Je T'aime" ("I love you") famous and there is a you tube video of her singing it (or trying to) in concert. It seems the whole audience wanted to tell her how they felt and when the music started they started SINGING IT TO HER. It was really emotional for the audience and for Lara. And honestly, the audience did a good job. I think you'd enjoy it.
i would love to see you react to lara's latest performances. all the videos you've reacted to are from 2000 when she was 30 and in her prime. Now at 47 she has matured into a more deep, emotive, experienced voice which still has most of the power from her youth. Her low notes have become more clear and resonant. I had a chance to see her live last year which was the most overwhelming experience of my life. Maybe you could react to her "vocalise" live from "mademoiselle zhivago" or "bambina" live from "un regard 9". looking forward to your reaction. thank you
I agree 100 percent. To judge a singer you have to listen to a) the voice and b) how she interprets her songs. To just judge her voice is bound to misrepresent her genius. In my opinion Lara has always been powerful and excellent technically and her tone always rich. But before 2000 (Pure) the tone of her voice had not fully developed, it was a bit rough, but she could exult in her power. In Lara with Love her voice still had "power", was a bit less rough, and she had become a great interpreter. But it is a mistake to "overplay" her belting, and be impressed with her high notes in the songs in her With Love concert. Even in 2000 you can see another Lara in her For Always soundtrack from the film AI in 2000, She got much better by 2003 to 2006 - she gave away some of the power Naturally as her voice aged her voice, aided by her technique, became purer, lighter and subtler. I think her Paris 2003 En Toute Intimite concert ( with its I'm calling you, Bambina and others) represents maybe the peak year of her "first half" ( she was 33). 2006 was I think the year of her brilliant La Lettre. The" second half from about 2010 has been a little more difficult, as she moved into her 40's and had to change her style. Her challenge is to satisfy both the fans who love her older songs and want more and those who want to hear her new songs. For example, her Russian adventure made her a "diva" so she needs to wear gowns and cater for their tastes, while she still sings in jeans in Brussels. Its a big challenge. But in my opinion, she is still not only "The Voice" after thirty years of career, but a consummate artist. Listen to her concerts from 2014 and some of her new songs!.
Been a fan since the 90s, french days(she started off singing french then went back and forth) & it breaks my heart that she was compared so much to Celine and Barbra strieseind, so no never gave her a chance (when she did her cross over albums) but if u want to catch up with her , her new English album (after so many years) is coming out in October called camouflage. ...
One of the best song in France signed by Serge Lama . The female singer who gave the best version was Dalida (one of the most famous singer in France from the 50ies to 80ies) who could live this song with her unlucky love life . The song is about a woman left by her lover . She's sick and has regrets about her life . Lara Fabian is the best after Dalida to sing this sad song ....
You have to watch a video of this with english subtitles. The lyrics tell of her desperation and her physical reaction along with those words , you can almost feel the pain! I
your reaction in the beginning of the video lol that's exactly how I feel and I'm sure a lot of people who understand at least a little about technique. this woman is a genius
I wish people were able to see the lyrics. I don't speak French and this song just sucked me in with it's intensity and passion. Then when I read the lyrics side by side her singing this.... WOW!!!
yep ! I put a comment about your video on Adagio from Lara Fabian ! The guy who live in France you know ? ! I see that you had understood ! For the little history, this is a emotional song writing by Alice DONA for a great french singer Serge LAMA ! In the seventeens, this song make a great record and she became one of part of each french ! I can translate in english, why not ? One more time ! Thanks for your video and the pleasure to see your eyes when Lara singing...or playing....ok ! Twice ! Bye !
