This version from 2006 is a simplified version of her interpretation from her concert in 1997. I'm surprised that Eric "Lara's wiki" Sicard 😉 didn't give you the best link for this song. Sounds like a phyharmonic orchestra and Lara in “Broadway mode”. Masterpiece -> ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zW8lalHMwxk.html
Harry, thank you for appreciating Lara's performance of this medley of songs from Barbra's movie Yentl. If you've never seen it's a must. It gives context to the lyrics. As Eric has commented, good as this performance was, it's not Lara in full Broadway mode. I suggest that you follow the link in Eric's comment and be blown away by her awesome performance. Hi Harri Love your reactions and comments to Lara ❤ Keep up the good work ❤ If you need more surgestions, just say so 😊 Love Lara ❤ Love from Denmark ❤
I agree with you, in the future as you said, new generation of singers will look at her as their idol and inspirations. In fact, I believe many young singers are looking up at her now and learning from her way of singing and performing. Btw, this version of Yentl medley, is not (to my opinion) her best presentation of this song(s).
Lara here is magnificent but her voice seems a little tired to cover this song which requires a lot of effort, especially since she does two difficult songs while Barbra has never done it. In 1997, at the Molton center she was at the peak of her vocal mastery and there she is truly fabulous. You can watch it again or have a reaction again, we'll be happy to see it again...ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zW8lalHMwxk.html&pp=ygUYbGFyYSBmYWJpYW4geWVudGwgbWVkbGV5
Gracias!
Her performance of the cover ""a peace of sky/papa doe you hear me"" of her concert PURE is even better. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gFyFDjnz43Y.html
Argh, Harry, what a pity, you didn’t use the right version. That’s my fault , I just checked and i forgot to send the links in my request. This rendition is good but not her best according to me. This is the one where she is stellar and in “broadway” mode: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zW8lalHMwxk.html
I feel I own you something. -- I read your personal story (Yentl) . Here is mine. Some years ago, surfing in internet Je t`aime Paris 2001 caught my attention. I was deeply moved by mutual expression of love. I forgot about it (emotional experience). On New Year`s Eve last year my attention was caught by her Wind Beneath My Wings. I sent it for Happy New Year to my sister. On the first day of the new year, I decided to take a closer look what that was what caught my attention… You know what I think about her now!
@@ericsicard910 Here are my thoughts to Lara`s evolution. - I don´t know much about Lara and her singing (CDs and concerts). But it seems to me that there are 3 stages. 1. She defines and establish herself as a singer (ca 1995-97 - 2005-07/08); 2. She reinvents herself and is going through a change (2005-07/08 - 2017/18): 3. She becomes herself as a singer (since 2017/18 - …). I would point out for the 2. one - TLFM, Mlle Zhivago and Le Secrete / I am A-WA (NB). And for the 3. one - Amazing Grace 2017, Je t`aime 2018 Microphon, Pas sans toi (Tout le Monde…), Voir un ami pleurer 2019, Par Amour, Tbilisi concert 2023. Stages are about growth and development. For the 1. one is essential: she puts in full display what she can and is able to do singing-wise. It serves as a foundation for the further growth (= change). For the 3. one is essential: she becomes WISE in regard of singing (goes hand in hand with personal freedom and ability to be herself). Meaning, she knows what voice she has and for what purposes it can be used (to become a friend with her own voice). Well, growth does not mean one is able to top heights one achieved on previous stage.
@@margusmagi6703 overall I think you get it right. I would probably split the first phase in 2 and maybe change a bit the timing of the transition from phase 2 to phase 3. On the rationale of this evolution, there are multiple other reasons you should add and factor in: - her health issues (eating disorder, heart attack, liver cancer, earplug accident letting her deaf for weeks, the mental disease of her beloved mother, the loss of her soon-to-born baby, …) - her professional issues : her ban from US due to “competition”, the harassment from french media in the 2000s, … - her spiritual journey: mainly after having met Issa Padovani - her love journey: from bitter love treasons and breakups, to being a mother and to find her love soulmate and husband. But yes ultimately she is shining and inspiring nowadays 😀
In 1904, in a village in Eastern Europe. Although its reading is reserved for men, Yentl, a young Jewish woman, secretly studies the Talmud every evening with her father. When the latter dies, she decides to leave her village, disguised as a boy. Yentl then traveled across Poland looking for a rabbinical school where she could study. In a hostel, she meets an attractive student, Avigdor, who introduces her to a yeshiva in Bechev.
Both songs are from the same movie, Yentl, about a Jewish girl who is forbidden from learning because of the orthodox household she lives in so she went in drag to school, and conflict ensued when she fell in love with Mandy Patinkin. More familiar with the Molson version, but this is not bad at all.
Did u know the reason BS Stopped touring? Stage Fright She went on stage 1 time Opened her mouth 2 sing NOTHING came out She didn't tour again 4 decades
