I'm Andy Portsmouth, and I'm happy to offer you this large (190m2) stone house with three bedrooms, attached garden and field, two living rooms and two modern garages. Once a part of the village Auberge, with a vaulted cellar and dating back over 200 years, at one time the village school was held in the events room - that’s now the first-floor living room (37m2) with south-east facing terrace, overlooking the garden and open countryside.
The huge downstairs living/dining room (41m2) with logburner, leads to a bright modern fitted kitchen/diner (25m2) opening to the back garden, and on to a utility room (15m2). Upstairs, there are three bedrooms (23m2, 12m2, 11m2), a shower room with WC, a separate WC, and that fabulous upstairs living room. The house is connected to mains drains. The kitchen is double-glazed, the rest single. In addition to the logburner, there are electric radiators. The main roof was replaced in 2010, and the part over the kitchen, hallway and garages more recently.
The front of the house is smaller, facing on to the street, and the back part of the house much bigger, facing to the garden and field (the field is almost an acre), and to the countryside. The field has vehicle access from the street, and you have private (covered) parking here. The vaulted cellar has access from the inside of the house at one end, and from the outside at the other end, (ask for more photos please).
Le Vigeant has a café-restaurant, library/post office, school, fishing lake with barbecue area, and a great friendly calm community with regular events at the village hall just up the street. 2km away is the small town of L’Isle Jourdain, with schools, supermarket with petrol, five café-restaurants, bakery, newsagents/tabac, doctors, dentist, pharmacy, opticians, garden centre, DIY store and garage, plus a swimming pool, tennis courts, and waterskiing/kayaking. This is a very safe, healthy and relaxing place to live, and you're surrounded by the beautiful lush countryside of the Vienne river valley.
