I just had a mental image of DaVinci, snapped out of time, and dropped into this man's workshop to witness this automaton carving one of his most famous works into a piece of wood in 3d. At first, I imagined shock, then I imagined his brilliant mind instantly starting to piece together what he was seeing and trying to understand it.
Amazing. But that has to be a $20,000 CNC router. Not to mention the other $30,000 of equipment between the planer and rapid tool change router. Awesome setup!
Amazing job would be him doing woodcarving with chisels as centuries ago. This is just cheap destruction of precious trees for making profit. No difference between this and cheap IKEA furniture making.
is it ArtCAM? do you have a comparison with Alphacam or other software? I wonder which program generates the best tool paths for CNC routers. I'm guessing that every program has its advantages and disadvantages.
