how does it fit over the dog? Any chance you could do an add on video of you putting it on your dog? Just to show those (me) how it is done? I'm a traumatic brain injury survivor and I am re-learning everything...Crocheting is my therapy,,,
Thank you so much for watching 😊 omg congratulations on making progress in your recovery. Yes I'd be happy to make a video, give me a few days and I'll have that up. You put in over their head, then insert each leg into the front leg holes.
Hi I am following you today but u need to tell me and then other how many rows total did and who many stitches are in each rows total because of u made me mess up my large dog sweater size I just ripped it all out because you got to tell people how many stitches are needed for each row and then how many rows total.
How many yards of yarn do I need to crochet this large dogie sweater.? I like to know ahead of time so I don’t run out of yarn. Thanks, I’ll wait for your response. 😊🧶🌺
Tried my best but i think i got lost with how many stitches i was supposed to have around the collar area .. my collar looks way too floppy and open and big not neat like yours 😢
Hey, thank you so much for watching. The front post dc takes some practice. What I can assume happened was that you went into each space, doubling up the sts. After you make your hdc, your going to make your front post double crochet around the next post, it's going to look like your skipping a st, however your not and it will turn out better 😊 the first row is the tricky one because after that first row of front post double crochet you will easily be able to wrap around the post for each additional row and doing your hdc in the next sts.
@@mariaheartsyarn Thank you so much for taking the time to try to help me figure out what I did wrong. Thats exactly what I did I think!! Lol At the start of the front post dc how many stitches are we supposed to have before and after the first row of front post dc? Knowing how many would help me alot I think.. Youre so sweet for helping us Thank you so much!
This is the largest size dog sweater I have a pattern for however changing the weight of the yarn to a 5 or super bulky 6 and changing the hook to a 8mm, 10 or 12 mm will definitely give you a larger sweater using the same pattern. I would start with a few rows and test it around your dogs belly and go from their. Thank you so much for watching ❤
@mariaheartsyarn I just wanted to let you know that the CC and the transcript is in Vietnamese... I don't know if that is something that you have options to change, or not, but it is not on my side, as all the other videos i have watched are english cc. I dont want to come across wrong. I just know that if it were me, i would want someone to let me know. Thank you for all your videos, most of the small dogs in my pack have sweaters, now. It has been years since i have picked up a hook and yarn. The extra small was perfect for me to reintroduce crochet into my life. Do you have an extra large? or know a video that you would recommend? Again, thank you for these videos!
@@mariaheartsyarn Awesome! Thank you again for your videos. My pups are warm this first cold morning. I am almost done with one that i was able to do with my own color pattern. Your videos have made it easy and enjoyable to start up crocheting again!
Honestly I followed all of the steps exactly, used the right yarn and hook, and its not even close to a large dog sweater. I was making this for my large french bull dog, who is chunky but by no means a large dog, and it doesnt come close to fitting him. The row counts for the body are way off, its barely halfway down my dog’s back. I even added a stitch for each row of the tube portion of the body and it’s too tight. The arm holes are too close together and aren’t big enough. Again, my dog is by no measure “large”. Very disappointing and a massive waste of my time.
This is so true I followed the steps and ended up giving the sweater to a smaller dog, I made another one for my own dog (my dog isn’t even a large dog) and I found it helps to use a measuring tape to get the exact size and I increased the length of the sweater so it fits better
How many rows would I need to shorten this by to make it 15 inches long instead if 18? I'm very new to crochet so I'm sorry for being a pest but I'm hoping this can work for my dog. The width is fine for her but she is only about 15 inches from collar to tail
I do not know exactly how many rows. However what you can do is measure your dog from the tail to the back of their front legs and continue crocheting until you reach that many inches, then at that point start the leg holes and the rest of the video can help you finish it up along the neck 😊 I hope this helps, please let me know if you have any other questions.
Hi I would like to make this for my Jack Russell. She is 17 inches long from tail to neck and 20 inches wide at the chest, with a 13 inch neck. How can I shorten the length and widen the chest surround width? This is my FIRST attempt to make a sweater or anything except a rectangular blanket, so I need HELP :) How many yards of yarn do you use?
Hello! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_Mk2RHa_K_o.html here is my video for a medium size which may fix your jack Russell better. 😊 after row 4 check the width around his stomach, if it is not wide enough continue adding increases (the 2 hdc in first and last sts to make the sweater wide enough, before you reach row 13)
I'm so sorry. If it will help you there is a way to slow down the speed of the video. Press the three dots and it will be under playback speed. I hope this helps
