It will be interesting to see this mature. Are you getting much evaporation because of all the surface area of the water? If it gets annoying topping it up you might be able to hide an automatic top up behind the background. 👌
Yes indeed, I cannot wait to see this setup become established and mature! There doesn't seem to be much evaporation so far, but I've kept it at room temperature and to add fish I will be raising temps so I'm guessing this may increase evaporation
for riparium plants you could try using terrarium plants that are a little more rare than the normal ones, if this is in South American style I would recommend some Solanum uleanum and Solanum "Ecuador", you could also try various types of Anthurium such as crystallinum and radicans/luxurians ( veitchii would also be beautiful but it is difficult), many bromeliads of all sizes such as Neoregelia supercute, carcharodon, liliputiana, Tillandsia, Vriesea splendens, and Philodendron micans, verrucosum, melanochrysum, gigas, Monstera Dubia, obliqua “Peru” and , also many Marcgravia and orchids such as Cattleya
Great suggestions! Many thanks! I was thinking of adding some Bromeliads, but there isn't much space left for anything else once I finished adding sphagnum moss. I'm somewhat cautious about introducing larger plants such as Anthuriums and philodendrons as they might eventually overshadow mosses and hydrocotyle tripartita
@tropicalfishhub Does the spray foam stick to the glass aquarium decently well for you? I've heard reports that it can come off in a few months when sprayed to the glass instead of siliconing it to the tank glass.
I am always using a layer of silicone first, and then expanding foam. The foam indeed can come off glass quite easily if there is no silicone layer underneath
