The Yorktown Class had a very nice hull. I have the 1/350 scale USS Lexington CV2, and they did the same thing, giving you the possibility to do a Waterline version & a Full Hulled Version.
VERY NICE REVIEW..!, I had the chance to buy that model kit but having had seen the hull of that model kit....it was so dissapointing the wrong shape of the hull, the stern and the bottom is a terrible mess...Trumpeter did a poor work on it to offering us an unaccurate model...concerning the correct shape of that hull..I don't know the reason why Trumpeter has this issue to modeling hulls on almost all their warship models..it seems that in their last releases like the new tool Trumpeter BISMARCK 1/350 they are fixing that problem...WELL ANYWAY....this HORNET (CV-8) looks great on a waterline built only....THANKS...!
