Las Vegas' "Sphere" stands 366 feet tall and spans 516 feet across - the largest spherical structure in the world.
The Exosphere features 580,000 sq. ft. of fully-programmable LED lighting - making it the largest LED screen on Earth.
Sphere will officially open in Las Vegas on September 29 with 25 sold-out concert performances by U2. The Darren Aronofsky-directed "Postcard from Earth," an original immersive production, is scheduled to premiere October 6.

I remember drawing something just like this as a teenager after visiting Las Vegas with my family in the 1990's. I even named it "Sphere" Hotel/Resort. It's amazing to see that something from my childhood fantasy drawings of an imaginary Vegas neon spherical building actually really exists now in real life. I will definitely visit this on my next Vegas trip!

I am not impressed. All this digital LED light stuff has quite worsened this world. Maybe this is alright for Las Vegas, an always overlit city and a major tourist destination with its casinos, but they are now trying to make every city akin Las Vegas. So sick of all this crap light. I am more impressed with a new dark sky sanctuary in Florida, the city of Groveland. To see this LED crap light and all these light shows is an everyday occurrence. To see a place free from light pollution with minimized soft light (or no light at all) with a starry sky is a real luxury.
