🏀 Keith, those players from the Atlanta Hawk's team got in trouble for reacting like that, from Atlanta Head Coach Mike Fratello. I can't remember what their punishment was though.
@@eruptrl8893 I feel sorry for you if you truly believe that. KD is one of the best scorers in NBA but he doesn’t even come close to the offensive IQ of Bird. This guy along with Magic Johnson literally defined the 80s era of basketball and saved the NBA from dying out. In accolades alone, Bird has 2 more MVP and 1 more ring than KD has, not to mention the way KD got his rings will always be remembered as the weakest move in the sport for decades to come. KD has utterly failed to even lead a team to a ring by himself while Larry literally dominated for a decade against the showtime Lakers, a team that included 2 GOAT candidates and several Hall of Famers. The guy is a living legend who would literally tell the opposition what he is going to do next and would still manage to do it and drop buckets exactly as he said. KD has a long way to go to even be considered on half the level of achievements that Bird did. But to each his own I guess 🤷🏻♂️
Before his time, even though it didn't count that contested fadeaway 3-pointer he hit near the end of the game showed how good he could've been in this current era
You see luka doncic dominating in todays game.. He and Larry’s game is very similar in the way that they both play at their own pace. Imagine a Larry bird in todays game. He would dominate
nobody was d'ing him...are you nuts? you need to watch this game and then watch a game with today skills....nobody today is allowing bird to do any of that, they literally was standing still with their hands up in the paint, while he just move around them, nobody contested bird how they would've contested him today, these guys today are jumping out the gm for blocks and rebounds, they will have bird looking like a high school player in a grown man game
Rick smit 7 foot 4 inches would've been Larry bird 🌙 nightmare, & would've given Larry bird a migraine headache,, Gheorghe muresan would've ❤️ playing against Larry bird, larry bird would've yelling help, help, no Mas no mas cannot see the 🧺 basket
You know it is something special when you are playing in the other teams arena and the entire crowd of opposing fans are going wild for you. Every young player and fan needs to watch this.
@@vincentbaca790 On February 22, 2007, at the Austin Convention Center, Johnson had a heart attack and collapsed at the end of the Austin Toros' practice.[25] After being rushed to a nearby hospital, he could not be revived and was later pronounced dead.
I've never seen a player play as clever as Larry Bird... He didn't have much physical ability, but he was the best all-rounder who had everything from shooting, passing, and clutching.
@@mcmerry2846 Well effort but also intellect. U can hussle all u want but basketball is a mind game also, understanding different offensive schemes and techniques u know
@@jdmikeg4 probably one of the worst lists ever, my man. Kobe is too goddamn high and Shaq also. Undoubtedly Kareem is too low and in my opinion Magic and Bird but it's just my opinion, everything before are facts. Duncan not being in top 10 is criminal.
Those siddle movements aren't taught those moves compliment a player that lacks size, speed and the jump outta of the gym game freeze passes u don't see anymore u know it only Indiana and north Carolina posess those techniques
Kobe Bryant would've score 81 points playing against Larry bird, kobe Bryant would've ate a grilled 🐦 sandwich, joel embiid would've score 70 points playing against Larry bird would've ate a 🐦 sandwich
I watched this video and enjoyed it. I am 71 years young and fully realize how things can be manipulated. I realize that there are many, many great basketball and football (American version) and baseball players. So MANY of them are. And reading the comments on YTube on this entry 'amused' me. The same old: "Hey, my man is better", etc. So and so is better, etc. Like that can be proven (the point is moot). My point is: enjoy the competition, even in the Olympics. The athletes love competing...and winning. And recognize the efforts and the athletic ability. Comparing one to another, at least just for comparing, is for...others. It is so subjective, just like in music. I just enjoy. "
He was built like a gym teacher but u say he a much then he smacks and paddle u and feel the power hey man bird led the league in rebounding folks forget that the greatest I'm say number behind magic and Micheal he's firmly 3
3:14 was Sick, look at da hawks players in the background,Larry The 🐦 doing what he did to become Larry Legend
When Bird had a hot hand you could defend him text book with a hand in his face and an elbow in his ribs and he would still drain it right in your face!
People don’t speak about his athleticism enough, because you can see how physical strong he is when he’s in the post Also, Bird’s footwork is absolutely beautiful in the post He was bullying the Hawks, physically wore out Dominique in the post
I've been shouting it from the rooftops,If u were around in that era, there was ZERO debate,LARRY BIRD was THE best player on the plane!!Magic had yet to take his game to new heights and even when he did in 87, Bird still should have gotten his fourth consecutive MVP award,it was his best year, bar none and the C's needed him more then ever as Chief was plagued by injuries and take his stats side by side with Magics or MJ's and it's ludicrous he did not get the MVP,he took a beat up C's to the finals and took the machine SHOWTIME LAKERS clicking on all cylinders to 6 gms!!Bird was out of his mind that year and somehow Magic gets the MVP?!?!Magic decided to learn how to shoot that year and upped his a g by like 6 pts but it still fell by 6 to Birds, plus Bird still did his all around game, but it's just insane today that people wanna try and put Magic ahead of Bird, the only argument should be Bird and MJ period!!U don't change what was just because another player comes along,u have to add EVERYTHING in,Era,level of competition, which Bird played in easily the most competitive of all time!!And imo,I Believe Larry Legend is simply getting the cool thing to do these days, just like Eminem Larrys skin is working against him!!Because weather u were white, black, brown,etc....If u were there u cant deny how insaneky good he was!!
I think Bird was a better shooter than Curry, in many ways. Just he makes it look SO effortless lol Curry has to really throw it up to shoot, Bird almost tosses shots in, with little effort.
The 60-point game means something very important. A week or so before, McHale set the Celtics scoring record with a 56-point game. The competitor Larry was, he couldn’t have that. So he INTENDED to break the record that day in New Orleans. What that means is that Larry could have gotten 60 AT WILL most of the time. But he would “settle” for a 30-point game just so he could bring his teenaged along with assists and outlet passes instead of burying the jumper or running all the way to the basket on the fast break. He could have averaged what Jordan averaged any time he wanted to.
