The thing that always struck me about Johnson was how quickly he covered ground, even in close quarters with lots of bodies around him. And then...three or four more steps and he was in the clear, flying down the field with a panicked defense scrambling to catch him as if they were all saying "Oh hell, we had him and now we have to stop him when he's got a full head of steam?!?"
You need to look at the blocking and how the PSU line was really setting the edge to make those runs possible. And the blocking on those inside zone plays, and how the line was getting to the next level was just phenomenal.
Thanks for this. Had season tickets that year. LJ was unstoppable. Nebraska was memorable but the MSU game was wild. He needs over 200 yards to get to 2k and he had it easily before half time.
