Well, you see, congress refuses to raise the minimum wage. The minimum wage is not a living wage, when it used to be. Congress allows grocers and landlords to be as profitable as they want. Biden, just like Trump, is a capitalist , and as such, they don't set prices. However Biden tried to enact a program that limited gauging but the GOP rejected it, he also introduced an anti-inflation bill, but the GOP squelched that too. The GOP is pro business, and gives them interest-free loans, corporate welfare, and little-to-no taxes, and is more unregulated than its been in 50-years. So whenever I hear a republican complain about the price of things, I laugh, because this is what they wanted all along. And there's a long list of lobbyists to prove it.

@@robyoung-pl1gq About the same amount of additional federal debt ($8 Trillion) was added under Biden in the same 4 year time frame. Neither one was what you would call fiscally responsible. If federal spending goes as planned and the governments projections are right in 30 years 1/2 of all tax money will go to pay interest on the debt and nothing else. Social Security now uses 23% of taxes. Combined that means 3/4 of all taxes collected 30 years from now are expected to pay for nothing that government should be doing to act as a proper government while providing expected basic government services. There will not be enough money to pay for those things that government should provide for us like the Military, border patrol, CIA, FBI, Courts, legislators, a President and so on. An alternative model says that if interest rates go 2% higher than expected a level still below the historical interest rate average then in 25 to 28 years the only part of the federal government that will still exist will be the IRS trying to take money from taxpayers to give to bondholders. I do not see that going well considering the super rich who pay the vast majority of taxes can afford to pay taxes or fight against the IRS which might mean never paying taxes again if they choose to fight and manage to win. Average people would likely just pay the taxes and get nothing from government in return which would suck. The current levels of government spending must be reduced, and a balanced budget required if the federal government is to survive economically in the long term. If the interest on the debt from expected future deficit spending would take 1/2 of all tax money in just 30 years, I cannot believe the interest on the debt would not take 100% of all tax money in 60 years in even the most optimistic scenarios.
