Thank you Moumin, I appreciate that. I would consider some of the longer videos on this channel to be like a documentary. You could check out the 4 part series I did in Ukraine last year. Or the 40 minute guide to Medellin, Colombia. I'd like to do more long projects, but there has to be enough interest by viewers to make it worth the time. If you have documentary ideas, let me know ;)

I noticed in this video, a lot of people who say they speak a second language, really don't and/or seem to just have started learning it. Ex: The Korean couple definitely didn't speak English as they used a translator on their phones to your very simple question. On another one, the guy at 8:10 looks like Luis from Ant-Man LOL.

Ilocano is actually not a dialect, but a separate language. For some reason the Filipinos refer to other languages in the Philippines as dialects. Example: Tagalog and Bisaya have a bigger difference between them, than Spanish and French. Still Filipinos will say Bisaya is a dialect, when it is actually a different language altogether. Just in the same Austronesian family.

If you don't speak different languages you wouldn't understand the one from the Philippines 8:58 having is mind going blank for a couple of seconds when the question were asked. It's quite difficult to switch from a language to another one especially when your brain weren't ready for it. It demands a little bit of seconds to actually process. As someone who speaks 3 languages, I definitely understand the sensation.

It's truly amazing to know how many different languages some people can speak anywhere in the world. I barely speak English and Spanish as my primary languages, I also speak German but just a little bit because my knowledge of the language is really limited. I think English is the world's greatest and easiest language to pick up due to its enormous influence across the globe as the world's lingua franca for international communication and interaction between different countries, cultures and so on. There are still huge barriers for interested language learners to overcome and seem to be kinda unbreakable in my opinion, especially for completely different languages like Chinese, Korean and Japanese. It largely depends on one's perspective as well.
