There has been on Facebook and other places about Elvis black s t u t z I believe that is up for sale and we were wondering was it Elvis's or the doctor that Elvis gave one to that is his that's for sale I believe you the only one that we could get the truth from because there's so many different stories out there if you have the time to look into this we would greatly appreciate it if you can't we understand that too be blessed as always thank you again for all your kindness and what you give us truth

Barbara private how nice is this clip I didnt no Girard Henderson but you mentioned Avon ok back here in Australia when I was grown up I was a Avon rep I think I about 20 or 25 years old I enjoyed it very much So billy thanks for bringing this clip up ok he had cool home, But I'm glad that the drone never got much damaged ever so cool
Not really if you stop to think about it, back when it was actually built and the time frame of what was modern or at the time what was style and also take into consideration it’s under ground and with a billionaire who can buy pretty much anything they want and obviously making it their own creation and much different, I think it was an intelligent and interesting build. One that well they were trying to impress anyone’s liking but their own…
I do and I don't want to live there. Henderson passed in '83 inside the bunker and it obviously stayed frozen in probate time. The new owners are somewhat mysterious. Instant legal bordello is my guess.
That sounds like a reasonable guess, given what those stones are spelling out on the property. Why else would somebody want to spell out sex in their yard? That sort of thing isn't likely to go over well with the neighbors. Seems like you'd have to be desperate to sell some kind of sex operation to put that in your yard. That blatant advertising kind of seems to defeat the purpose of having it underground though.
I just watched a program that was filmed in 2015 with the current homeowner. It has nothing to do with a bordello of sorts, it is just a home, where he has parties, barbeques, entertaining guests, and lives. The house is giant! It's on Netflix World's Weirdest Homes. Homeowner is a Society Group for Protected Species, and the President Mark Velker lives there currently. You can look at another video on RU-vid filmed in 2017.
Looks a lot like something you would dream about after taking some acid and falling asleep watching the movie 2001. It's unique and would probably make a good nightclub after a remodel. For the price they are asking I am sure you could build your own underground house just like this for far less. Air conditioners use a huge amount of energy. Electric bill is probably $1200 a month.
This house struck me as odd during the vid, but then seeing "sex" in the landscaping was really weird. I did a little research and his first name is spelled Girard. He was 73 years old when he finished this house ( the year after Elvis died) and he died 5 years later.
I lived in Vegas for over 50 yrs. never heard of that marvelous house! I remember some odd character living in a cave on Sunrise Mtn., and one very interesting hermit who lived in an old mine shaft off the road to Lk Mead...we used to bring him 'treats'. And, in retrospect, there was a 'partial' underground home, which disappeared long ago when land values hit the roof...no pun. As to the comment about basements not being constructed due to 'sandy soil', that is largely incorrect. Most of the desert floor is hard caliche...which would make underground homes quite easy to construct & fairly safe. Such homes would not be in the interest of home builders, thus I'm almost certain county bldg. codes arbitrarily prohibit underground homes. Corrupt, intrusive 'politics' I'd wager. That is probably why the Henderson place is largely unknown. No doubt the builders evaded building codes by oiling the right palms. Dear old Vegas runs on $$$$$, as do most enterprises.

Very cool way to live, but I wonder how they keep the earth above them from falling in on them? Also how long do you think it took to build that house? Very interesting indeed. I use to buy avon, the products are very good. Awesome house and the areas surrounding it are very beautiful. I would enjoy very much a chance to see this house in person. I use to buy Avon, too, and collect Avon now, but had never heard about the Henderson house. Definitely, interesting info to add to my Avon collecting fun. I too, would love to know what Elvis would have thought about this. Since he seemed to appreciate the latest in electronic gadgets, I would have to think he would have found this pretty fascinating. He also seemed to love his rooms cool, dark, and shady and certainly he appreciated his privacy. As someone who likes to hide away myself, I love this place, especially the ability to have the perfect outdoors, weather wise and privacy wise. Imagine lawn furniture that you never have to scrub down? I'd have a little bit of trouble overcoming my claustrophobia though, down there. I'd definitely have to have a video or security cam where I could keep an eye on what was going on above ground. I think anybody would. With the home being so old now, I'd worry a little about whether it could continue to support the earth above it. You'd really have to have it checked out good to feel comfortable. I wish they could turn it into a museum so people could have the chance to see it, like Graceland.

Looks super cool but why dis the price jump up so high? I think it was bought 5 years ago for 2 million, now its listed for 18 million? What's the real value? Was the 2 million price a foreclosure price or is it overpriced now?
Weird. I lived in vegas 78-85 and NOBODY had basements. They just didn't build them in Vegas, so to have a whole house underground is odd. Don't know if they now build basements.
That's interesting about houses not having basements in Vegas. I had never heard that before. I wonder if it has something to do with the sandy soil, which makes you wonder all the more how they managed to build this place.
Henderson preferred to live down there as much as possible, in case of a nuclear strike, but once he died in 1983, the home went to his wife. When she passed away a few years later, it went to some relatives, who sold it to a buyer, who had the home foreclosed on. It was recently purchased for a cool $1.15 million by a mysterious group known as the Society for the Preservation of Near Extinct Species. Very little is known about this group. ~The Roadtrippers~
Interesting information you found out about this. It's kind of unbelievable to me that something so completely unique went for so little money, in Vegas especially, where the demand for something cool and shady would be great, I would think. When you think of the relatively unimaginative homes in Los Angeles that go for 3 million and up, I would have thought this might sell for more. It seems like there's some kind of trend going on these days, where when an unusual large home is for sale, some weird mysterious group comes along and buys it. It kind of frustrates me because I hate to see unique, vintage homes get gutted or torn down, and it just seem like there's more chance of that when a group, who probably has more money or an unusual use for the property takes over. I always feel like I'd rather think about some private owner really enjoying the luxury and loving the place like a home. With it being in Vegas, I'm really surprised some celebrity didn't want to buy it, especially for the privacy. I remember seeing a video about Pia Zadora's home in Vegas, and she talked about how she can't stand the heat and always keeps all her heavy curtains closed and air conditioner blasting. You'd think some celebrity like her, who's kind of different, would have grabbed this up. I guess there might be a little bit of a fear factor though for people with something underground. There would be for me, a little fear of getting trapped somehow. I wonder how they breathe down there, if it's sealed to keep water from getting in?

Are you sure that's the correct amount? It cost $10 Million to build it in 1978, and in 2017 it was worth $40 Million from what the President Mark Velker said?
Yes Melissa, Elvis lived there... Lets see now, the house was built in 1978. Elvis died in 1977. I think he lived there sometime after he passed away.. All of the trees, and plants are not real. Just seen this house on Netflix World's Weirdest Homes - Check it out! Shows some of the interior, talks with the owner for more info, etc. Very interesting 😜
Don't think so. Just seen the owner on a program, there is no way he intends on selling it. The program was filmed in 2015... World's Weirdest Homes on Netflix. It's the reason I came here to look for more info. And there is another RU-vid video filmed in 2017 with the owner. So they have been there for at least 3-4 years.
