I think what's really interesting is that people want complicated reasons for this shooting. Anyone can be normal and pleasant with people. The house of cards or domino theories are more likely. One card or domino falls and the whole lot crashes. His gambling wasn't going well. His woman friend ended their relationship. His brother said how "private" he was. There are few computer records to trace him. No one ever came forward to say they were a longterm, close friend of his. No one was a longterm co-worker . No gambler has come forth to say they knew him well and they gambled together, had warm conversations. He was estranged from two of his three brothers. He liked guns and used a shooting range. He had many high powered rifles and guns converted to automatic fire (in itself illegal). He was law abiding and kept to himself. He had no mental issues. But regular folks who've lead ordinary lives have psychotic breaks. Something becomes a last straw. And a psychotic break means the person doesn't react to what could be called ordinary misfortune, rationally: talks to a friend or family member, speaks to a therapist. Someone suffering a break may lash out violently, angrily in a random manner. It's the only time that person has ever done anything bizarre, illegal, violent. Even though the act was planned. The person knew it was wrong, but felt compelled to do it. I'm so miserable I'm going to die, but fuck the world! I'm taking someone with me. Anger and regret. We'll never know. But it's happened before. We've all heard, he was such a nice man. He babysat my daughter. He sang in church. He kept a perfect yard. He had impeccable manners. I dated him 10 years. We were married 20 years. Anyone is capable of what he did. The wonderful thing is 99% of us never act out this way and never will. And it's likely nothing about him was a red flag. My thoughts exactly, snipers take the coreolis effect into consideration when shooting at VERY long ranges. The hotel was about 400 yards from the festival and it was literally a shooting gallery. No calculations would have been necessary especially with automatic weapons. That just doesnt sit well with me at all

I was just enjoying LV last week and just happened to notice the anniversary of this tragedy recently. Saw the memorial to those that were lost. You just never know the darkness lurking in people's hearts and minds. Reminds me of the Pit Bull dog that seems to be fine but something triggers it to attack and kill. There was a family last week in Tennessee that suffered the death of two young children to their two family pitbulls. Again no particular reason or trigger.
If I may, I had a conversation with a family member of mine, I really thought about this, even though I can’t prove it, I’m pretty sure why he did this. He was a very smart guy according to everyone who knew him. He was the oldest sibling, always left in charge of everything so in his case he basically thought he was better than everyone. When something happened beyond his control like his terminal illness he felt if he must go he was going to take a whole lot of little people meaning average people along with him so he did what he did. Disgusting yes but in a person like him in his eyes who felt he was better than everyone, smarter than everyone, that’s the way it had to be. Very sad and very disgusting mentality.

The guy was likely framed. They knew he had a lot of money, and a lot of guns. Someone approached him to buy the weapons for a lot of money(which he couldn't resist), which would explain why 23 guns were inside the room(when only 1 or 2 were needed to pull off that job), with many appearing to be "Showcased" for the supposed buyers.
