Just a thought for people testing this, you can cut out the 3rd layer from the 1st layer since the 2nd layer will cover it. May save some material. The back would have the cut out but since it will be against the wall it may not be noticeable.

IF you are making it all from the same material, yes, this would be a great way to save some material. I, however, make my lyrics from a thinner material and have it raised of the surface to create a floating look. The thicker material done this way doesn't look as nice, in my opinion. BUT, your suggestion would defintely work and like I say, there are always more than one way to do things. Great suggestion!

My videos can be lengthy. But more often than not, the answers to most questions are on the video. But people are in the habit of skipping through, and they miss so much when they do. There are a lot of lasers out there. But if you are serious about wanting to start a business, then be serious about your choice of laser. I have been lucky enough to have used many lasers in the last two years. None, and I do mean, none compare to the quality of the Roly. If you are planning to be cutting out designs like these, power is crucial. The Roly LaserMATIC MK2 with the switchable 30W/10W module is the perfect machine to start with. You can cut these designs out 2.5 times faster with the 30W module vs. a regular 10W module. You can't make any money if you are standing around waiting on your laser to cut. Then, there is the dependability, the precision, the repeatability, and then the customer support. These things are second to none. When you look at what all you get when you buy a Roly compared to a brand, you have to piece mill together. And possibly assemble. Awesome video. The corner accent pieces takes it up many levels and the corner jigs make it so simple to apply. Genius. I do have one question. How does the glue adhere to the triple glaze finish that you use?

If you glue it up while the glaze is still a little tacky, you will never budge the corner pieces once you apply them... hence the alignment jigs.

oh really nice work, i cant wait to get a laser machine to do that work for my church, question, you glazed the wood before you put the wording on, the glue still made the pieces stay together, thought one glues first then glaze the piece?

I apply the Triple Thick Glaze, (hobowithwood.com/3xglaze), to each layer before the glue up. The application of the 3xglaze can be a little tricky. To get nice even coats, I find it better to finish each layer first. The added benefit of this is, if you glue it up while the glaze is still a little tacky, it serves as its own glue. If you are using regulare lacquer or poly finish, you may could finish it after glueing without a problem. There's always more than one way to accomplish a task. This way happens to work better for me.

Here is the Amazon link to the Irwin clamps in this video. amzn.to/48orRA0 As far as staining the wood. I use Minwax stain that I picked up at my local Ace hardware. You simply wipe it on the wood with a cloth. Wait 30 minutes and wipe it with a clean cloth. Apply desired protective finish. It's really don't great video content. Straight forward and simple.
