Great video. You didn't show the last piece being cut, it looked like the first one. You are motivating me to expand my skills.

Thanks Keith! The las was almost identical to the first with just a few small changes. It was the middle one, the top 2-piece one that got lost in the editing somehow. I'm a one man show, and not too good at editing! 🤪 But at least I try!

Hey, I don't if this will work in lightburn, But in GIMP, photoshop and illustrator (and every other modern windows graphic software I've ever seen) you can select the whole graphic, ungroup, and ctrl+left click the outline to unselect it (leaving all the inside stuff selected). Alternately you can select the outline and find the command "select inverse", which will un-select the outline and select everything else. You could also lock the outline and just drag a big selection around it. All of these shortcuts require that you lock the other components "before" you do any selecting. I don't have my laser yet, therefore I don't have lightburn yet either, or I would test this myself, LOL. But I just got the bug about 2 weeks ago... Love your content, keep up the good work, I've learned a great deal already!
@Stevon2012
@Stevon2012 2 года назад
I forgot: If you have the selection tool activated, once you select the outline: you can right click the workspace and it should give you a drop down menu allowing you to select inverse. This is the fastest way. Hope this works!

Hi, enjoyed the video... Great work. I am curious though, how did you paint it? By spraying it on or by brush? It looks amazing!
@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy
@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy 11 месяцев назад
Thanks Diane! I used acrylic paints and a brush.

Great job but I'm confused as to why you did an offset on the middle piece. Wouldn't you have gotten cleaner cuts on the pumpkin eyes and other small pieces without it?
@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy
@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy 3 года назад
I did the offset because the letters weren't attached to each other Ron. You could cut it as is, but then you would have to glue each letter individually. I'm sure I would have wound up with crooked letters! 🤪

Rich, was this done with the new 80W NEJE? Great project, I've been working on designing some Celtic knot layered files, this was a real inspiration to keep working on them. Thanks for the video!
@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy
@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy 3 года назад
Yes it was! But I would have preferred to do it on my 15W diode laser George. It has air assist. Unfortunately it's in storage while the shop is being remodeled.

what thickness of bass wood did you use?
@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy
@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy 2 года назад
I don't remember Jeff. It was either 3mm or 3.5.
@niki2111
@niki2111 3 года назад
Nice video. But ... in my opinion the process is not right. There was no reason for engraving in the first layer, all cutting. There was no need for an offset of the second layer, it had to be cut as it is. Although the letters were not connected. At the assembly stage they fit in properly. But that's just my opinion.
@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy
@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy 3 года назад
Engraving the first layer is for the burned wood to show through. On the second layer, I'm not a crafter, so I wouldn't have aligned the letters properly. But you can do it any way you wish! The final product is all that matters! Thanks for the comment!

Is this done with your 20 watt
@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy
@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy 3 года назад
No, I did this with the new Neje laser. But I have done plenty of them with the Ortur 20W in the past. You just have get your speed and power right.
