Cinda, thank you for the demonstration of the laser engraver. People should really see your video because some people are creating their own hand-held type of engraver that operates with an open source of electricity. The outcomes are sometimes not good. This is a safe way to engrave. 👍
I've been looking for something like this for my wood working projects, and from watching these videos it's my understanding that the difference between your pine cone and logo has to do with the outer rings of the tree are much lighter than the center. FYI, the outer layer is not harder, just more reflective. You could do the image at one setting, and your logo separately at another. Thank you for your video.
Thanks for the info! That does make sense. I haven’t had as much time as I would like to experiment with this since we have been working long hours finishing the cabin. Looking forward to trying some more projects 😊
Cinda - 3 cheers for a fine video. Your pacing and careful delivery really make the difference. I have the LP2 but am struggling to get any image stuff (jpeg) and can't see how to set up lettering in anything except in-line. I would like to use the LP2 to sign my turned bowls. I would really like to do the engraving in a circle on the bottom of the bowls. Looked to me like you might have been using an IPhone. Is that correct? Can you suggest someplace that I could find directions on importing graphics? Also, do the graphics have to be in BMP format? Pretty disappointed with the "directions" supplied with the tool. What I got doesn't address anything beyond the most basics start. Thank you very much!!!!!
Hi Tom, I am far from an expert on this. This was my first attempts at using the LP2. Yes I was using an iPhone. The graphics were done first on my computer and then I just sent them to my iPhone by Bluetooth. They were in just a normal JPEG format, nothing fancy. If you are wanting your actual signature, I don’t know why you couldn’t just sign your name on a white piece of paper and take a photo with your phone. You could draw a circle on another piece underneath for a guide. You might have to use your phone’s photo editing app to increase the contrast and to get the background completely white. I always try the engraving first on a scrap to make sure you have the size and everything right. I don’t know if this will help!😊👍
This vid makes me to save up for this little guy , I bought the first laser pecker and i having a blast with it but the speed of the l2 is where it’s at :)
Are you using the shield that comes with it? You can use the preview mode to see the engraved area. Or, For something small like a dog tag you could use a square piece of wood underneath first. Engrave that, but don’t move it, or mark the spot with tape. Then put your dog tag on top, where the writing lines up where you want it. Then engrave your tag. I am by no means an expert at this though. So there may be a better way😊

If 3 people are on the tram and 5 people get off, what has to happen? The answer is quite simply Lance. 2 people have to get on the tram again so that nobody is in it anymore 👌. It does put off quite a bit of smoke if you are doing large things like signs. It may be ok for outdoor shows. You would probably want to check with show management first, some shows I have done have fire code restrictions that won’t even let you burn a candle. But you could still have samples and take orders. 😊
Wood can vary a lot, so I started with the settings recommended on the app and then adjusted it as needed. I usually make a few test pieces and when I get one I like, write the settings on that item and save it so you have it for the next batch. If you look at the piece before you move it, you can do a second engraving to make it deeper if it needs it. Hope this helps 😊
