Gramps gives Jeff a horse which makes Jeff forget about Lassie until the collie runs away. (TRIVIA: This early episode was the second of only six Lassie episodes directed by Sheldon Leonard, a former actor who went on to become one of Hollywood's all time greatest directors/producers. He had just moved from acting to directing in the early 1950's, and Lassie was quite possibly one of his earliest directing job ( Leonard is credited with directing "Make Room For Daddy" in 1953). Unfortunately, no where is it noted, including in Wikipedia, that Sheldon Leonard directed the 2nd and 3rd episodes of the longest running series in the history of television - Lassie. Chuck Lorre, who created "The Big Bang Theory", named his two main characters - Sheldon Cooper and Leonard Hofstadter - as an homage to Sheldon Leonard.
NOTE: This recording has been edited to remove commercials and include titles and description. Running time approx 22 minutes.
