Hey Mark, Nice tour! I own a 2016 F-Type R, Black Berry Metallic w/Carbon Ceramic Brakes and 14K miles on the odometer and don't like the new headlights/taillights at all. Takes away the classic race styling of the Jaguar and its heritage. Makes it look more generic. Plus I have the crazy loud stock exhaust before they neutered it in 2018. Mine sounds like a NASCAR eruption in my garage. On your lot tour, price not being a consideration, the White SVR with the older headlights is #1, although I don't know why it has no SVR badge on the nose. #2 would be the Black new model with the red calipers, then #3 is the base model F-Type R blue car. No point in getting the P450 at all. Who wants a strangled supercharged V-8 that chokes 125 hp out of the motor?! Nobody ever said, I wish I'd gone smaller!! lol.

Thank you very much and yes I agree that SVR is awesome with the carbon fibre, better seats, and yellow calipers. I really like that black one with the laser cut wheels and silver stars. Great cars indeed.

I have a 2015 F-Type R, white with RWD. I’ve looked at the newer versions as well but decided on the 2015 for a few reasons. From a looks perspective, the headlights/front end has more of that signature Jaguar look. The newer version has headlights that look like they are off of an Acura or Honda. They make less of a statement. One drawback of the 2015 though are the hood vents. They were moved forward in later models because rain water would pass through the vents and cascade down in the fuel injectors causing corrosion. From a performance perspective, I prefer the challenge of the rear wheel drive as it possesses more of that ‘old school muscle car’ handling. Taming the rear end drift accelerating out of turns makes the driving experience more challenging and fun. Also, the engine is not de-tuned as some of the later V-8 models. You’re getting the full order with the older R models. And, lastly, the exhaust sound is what the original engineers offered up. My understanding is that the car was quieted down a smidge on later models. While this list is not all-inclusive regarding changes throughout its short life span on the market, it explains my personal preference as to why the older 2015 is a more desirable car. Not to mention, someone paid $103k for my car and, me being patient, only had to shell out $43k for the car. With the discontinuance of the F-Type going forward, I should have bought the car at the bottom of the depreciation curve and putting a couple thousand here and there into the car will keep it in fantastic shape for years to come. I agree with you… you just don’t see a lot of them out there and that is another bonus because the compliments on the car just keep coming. Take care!

Same here, V8 but AWD on a 2015 Santorini black with same wheels as Mark. I didn't realise it at the time but glad I snapped up my V8 when I did over a year ago, Just passed 40K miles. Never a dull moment. My favourite colour is the burnt orange with black accents. But when looking at other F Types Mark is right they all bloody great! I saw a navy blue with chrome trim & silver wheels, that worked too. It all works on the F Type. I did really like the silver too as shown. I'm not a fan of the new headlights for the same reason. I'm sure they work better than mine though :) Cheers!

Thanks Mark, everything you said resonated with my self. I gues the latest R version has the extra spline on the rear diffuser as the engine is at 575 BHP as standard now, which was the older SVR power. I think even the new SVR's are still 575 BHP but with the muted sound, as does the new R also. Always great to watch you do jag videos, thanks.

Nice video, personally I wouldn’t touch a V6 unless it was a Manual one they had a few years ago that were rare as a bonus they had the more beautiful headlights. I’m just not a fan of the squinty new headlights on the newer “update” but you don’t have to look at them when you are driving so that’s a plus. Having said that I’d definitely get a custom special ordered F-Type in a fully loaded out and rare color exterior and interior like say a yellow exterior with a red interior. Something that is rare over a Common garden Corvette for sure. But I’m all about being unique. But if I’m getting used I’d definitely get a last year F Type SVR coupe with the more beautiful headlights and find a low milage example and keep that forever.

@@jasonknight5863 I live in New Hampshire, the car was in Denver. I never see F-Types here. I have a couple of quibbles about the manual car. I bought a 3.0 v6 manual last year and it’s been an absolute pleasure to drive. If they made a p450 RWD with a finely tuned 6 speed manual I’d buy one in a heartbeat, just a shame they haven’t. I did look at the new lotus emira, with it’s 6 speed manual and 450bhp 3.0 v6 rwd drivetrain it’d certainly be some fun on those back country roads.

Wow 🤩 that White SVR F-Type is an absolute winner. # 1 easily for me. It’s easy to keep clean, great for summer reflecting the heat away from the interior. A nice glass roof to enjoy the sights as you drive along. The fact that it doesn’t have the Boy Racer spoiler does it for me. Because I’d have the coupe over the convertible any day just because it reminds me of the 60’s E -Type coupe with that gorgeous rear end.With the rear spoiler gone you can see the haunches and curves better. Icing on the cake is the carbon interior with the red quilted leather. Spectacular Mark! You should test drive it and compare it to your R version. I’d love to see what you think. How many miles on it and what year and how much do they want for it? That would definitely be a keeper for me. Most beautiful car out there in recent years apart from a Coupe 2019 and newer DBS Superleggera Aston Martin.

@@markholubetz appreciate that ! You totally should. That SVR is really something special. I wonder how many they made throughout the production run? Can’t be many. The only other cars I can think of that are very interesting are the new 24’ Nissan G.T.R the mid range version in Millennium Jade green with the Morí green interior is a really special car. In North America they are supposed to only get 40 cars and 60 more for the rest of the world. There is basically no you tuber that has one. That would be something tremendous to factory order. And see the whole enchilada from start to finish. Other than that the 24’ Lexus LC500 perhaps the individual version they make up in special colors with options. That’s basically a cheaper more affordable L.F.A. That would also be very cool too in a unique color and spec. Perhaps a convertible since you said you guys were maybe wanting one. Good luck brother! I don't know Mark... I am having second thoughts about getting an F-type. It is just too risky. Jaguar sales have been continuously declining in recent years, and all this electrification move in 2025 is getting me very worried. I was at a Jaguar dealership not too long ago, and I asked the sales rep, what is going to happen with all these combustion engine Jags? Are they still going to offer service and maintenance for them? He was frighteningly quiet. I asked him, so when you guys switch to all electric, what about the parts for my "new F-type"( if I buy one)? All he could say is, well, there will always be an after-market community and there won't be an issue regarding that. That is not the answer that I wanted to hear. My dad is a huge Jag fan and he really wants me to get an F-type. Unfortunately, I just don't think that it is worth it considering all the other options available. I was considering BMW in the past, maybe M8..however, now after extensive research, I am seriously considering Porsche 911 4 GTS. That car is so livable, has more storage than an F-type, dual clutch, 0-60 in 2.8 sec, open sun roof, better infotainment and tech, and much more. I know, It is significantly more expensive, 130K vs 185K but paying that difference might be worth it to avoid potential issues with the Jag brand down the road. A lot of people are predicting that Jaguar as a brand will not survive in the next few years. I don't wanna be caught spending all that money and then have to rely on after-market parts and unauthorized mechanics for repair. What do you think? Are my fears justified?
@markholubetz
@markholubetz Год назад
Hi Ermin, that’s all good and a 911 is an awesome vehicle too and you really can’t go wrong with that so if that’s your choice, I know you will enjoy it. With this whole conversation, I do believe many manufacturers may be against the wall in the same way due to the shift to EV and possibly Hydrogen or other tech. It really is a volatile time and one thing that is sure, is that the future is unsure and any ICE is at a similar risk. One thing that I am not sure, but I believe that the service side of all manufacturers is one of the biggest money makers and I seriously doubt that they will nail plywood on the windows. Factory parts and servicing just seems too lucrative to outright ignore and my personal thoughts are we may get a good 10 years out of it . Again, with all of that said, that is a lot of money and goi g with a lower risk may be more desirable so it’s all good and I would love to hear which way you settle. Hope you have a great weekend. Cheerz
