Coming back and looking at this over 4 years later brought literal tears to my eyes. This was the most amazing place to work and grow. You guys really did Playland justice in this video. Thank you so very much.
If you made a 4-hour video on this I would watch every minute of it. Everything was so interesting wish I could have seen this one in person. Thanks for bringing this to us and saving it in a video as it soon will be no more.
It's so sad that Playland Not At The Beach is closing. I am old enough to have been a kid when the real Playland closed, but even though I lived less than 10 minutes away from the beach, I never got to see it! Fortunately, I did get to go to Playland Not At The Beach, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I hope some rich person bought the collection and it will return, but unfortunately I think Covid killed it.
I practically raised my kids here! I couldn't count the number of times I visited, but I think you noticed more detail in one visit than I ever did, especially in the Dickens room. I am so grateful you made this, and I'm sure my kids will love it too. Such beautiful camera work, and you captured every (unlocked!) room perfectly. Thank you, sincerely.
I wish I could have gone there , but by the time I moved to SF, it was no longer there. We had a great amusement park where I grew up in Denver, it was called Lakeside. It's still there 😊
@@vvarietyshow omg, you will absolutely love it. I was able to go about 8 years ago, I had the best time ever. Many rides have closed, but some remained , and I rode them all many times over. 😀
We had a WHOLE Disney area and I wish I would of caught yall to show you guys, it was closed off since we never put glass over everything so I wish I couldve shown you! It was unreal, the collection was gorgeous.
I played most of these games at Cliff House after Playland closed and the one thing that stuck out in my mind was" jolly jack" . I remember being fascinated by those old circus games it's a trip to see them in person.
I was at the auction, and just happened to be sitting next to the guy that bought the Playland model, amongst other things. I remember I stopped adding up his purchases in my head after he went over the $75k mark.
I worked here for 7 years! I was there the day they filmed this lol but my coworker had come up with Playland in the Dark and its where we turned off all the lights in the building and played hide and seek and we only had flashlights, it was so creepy 😂😂 very convinced it was haunted lol
@@kendrakoch7931 I went like 10 years ago or near when it 1st opended in Oakland and bought a original toss plate and Laffing Sal doll for $100. The owner was very nice. I went via Appt
