The first round in 2019 was pretty much Choke Central, as FIVE teams all choked out. Four of them were the four division winners, including reigning Stanley Cup champions the Washington Capitals (fell to Carolina in 7) and the President's Trophy winners the Tampa Bay Lightning (the first team ever to lose a playoff series to Columbus, who pulled it off in a sweep); the fifth team was the Vegas Golden Knights, the previous year's runner-up, who blew a 3-1 series lead (and a 3-0 scoring lead in Game 7) against San Jose. The five simultaneous chokejobs in the first round actually led to a playoff-bracket competition running a "second-chance" edition because pretty much _every_ original bracket went bust.
@@Nolan36478 they atleast won 3 playoff games. Lost in game 7. 2019 Lightning team won ZERO playoff games. Had the best regular season of all time and got swept by the 8 seed 💀
@@TicTacTone2 the bruins literally had the most points and wins in nhl history and blowing a 3-1 lead to an 8 seed is worse than getting swept by an 8 seed
Montreal and Colorado do not even come close to making this list. The Rangers were a point behind them and the Avalanche were missing half of the roster last season.
aint no way montreal vs nyr was a choke. if you lose to a 100 point wild card team in the first round, that is not a choke. thats why i thought colorado didnt joke against seattle. hell i picked seattle to win in 7 over colorado in my bracket.
Great video! Only bit of advice I might give (I may have missed it if you did do this I apologize) but for this type of video maybe when you show each matchup for the first time, below the names of the teams, include why it is a choke. For example “NYR vs MTL - Montreal did xyz in the regular season” just so we understand why it is a choke
