AND REPLACE COF RANK 9 WITH SOMETHING USEFUL! THX !
MOAR TIPS! 1. Jim Thomes can also be used to INSTANTLY level up a skill or skills if you just re-spec'd. 2. Check the town armor vendors for items that might have +skill modifiers - you can sometimes find items at vendors that give "+ level to x skill" - unless the skill is something you can't see yourself every playing, buy the item and then shatter it! You now have an easy way to turn lower-level gear into something OP by adding additional levels to skills you're using. 3. The Tier 1 versions of each of the dungeons are mostly easy, quick, and drop fairly useful uniques (some of them drop build-enabling uniques). Assuming you are leveling an alt and have some of the required keys, running these can give great xp and jump-start your build. Lightless Arbor can be run at level 22 and drops a pretty nice crit helmet. 4. Remember that bosses can be stunned and frozen! If you skipped the campaign and got to mono's super early, equip a weapon with stun chance or use a skill that freezes to make blasting both the mono's and bosses easier until you get more levels! Enjoy!
i hesitate to make alts in other games than diablo and last epoch, i did not find any GOOD guide about the campaign skip but some explanatiions, after figuring it out myself i already have my third char in the 80's it's really easy and fast and alot of fun if you want to try different builds!
by the way the fastest method is, playing until you choose ur second mastery, dont forget to make the saphire tablet quests, then do the dungeon i think its lastless arbor, NOW run to the ship and make the quest which brings you into the desert zone!!! (dont forget to lvl up in monoliths before entering desert zone) soulfire bastion is NOT part of the campaign skip that is misleading, soulfire bastion is just to bring you to the arena faster! if your in the desert zone run straight to the right to do the next dungeon temporal sanctum, after that complete the campaign with all side quests which you now getting (they are all on the way to the end of the campaign and so to say "on your way" to the endboss which makes it extremely easy and handy to get all your idols and passive points!) and then kill the endboss and your as good as done with the char
what i also found out is: if you have a friend you can join his 100 monoliths why you are like lvl 25 and get about 3 lvl per monolith, just port to him while he is doing the monolith, this is also a way to NOT lose the monolith rewards if you die, my friend died while doing the monolith and i was still alive and he could port to me. you just need to stand next to him like 1-2 screens to get the xp. if you die dont worry just right click on his portrait again and you will port to him again, you will of course die alot in a 100 mono while being 25.
@@Lanceloot91 doesn't need to be lvl 100 monoliths, the xp is capped at +5 lvls of yours. So if you're 25, and you can join his lvl 60 monos, the xp gain is the same.
So i followed a guide on maxroll being this is the first time i played last epoch ..made a warlock ..then went to bleed ..i have 175 hrs, in and have most of the browns i need to make leg's .. but i am still only level 98 ..leveling is extremely slow i hit moniliths at like level 60 . can only go to 135 corruption and am getting wasted ,,, I have 612 echos done conquered 32 time lines.. Can't beat the guy in endless storm anymore ..he eats me .. getting really fustrated about to find i different game .. i have 35 stash tabs open full on junk lol .. . I have over 20k in mats which do me now good .. that bleed guides tells you to put a experimental on a leg but no one seems to know how to do it ..kinda funny watched several of ur videos ..beginnning to think it's like other games and they makers cater to you tubers ..giving them the items and rolls they need .. Just plane fustrating ..
What a massive help this guide has been. The bit about slamming exalts into low level uniques and keeping the level reqs made me instantly want to pause the video and go do it. Also, ever since I started this game, every day I think to myself... "This is the game Diablo 4 should/could have been." This game in Diablo 4's skin and theme would be.... perfect.
Some excellent tips. I just crafted a decent Firestarter's Torch with T6 Mana/Mana Regen. That plus Calamity helm is a cheat code. Levelled a Torment Warlock from 1-60 including all idol/passive unlocks in only 4 hours.
Speaking of Lagon and him killing alot of people! I would say that, this boss is a noob abuser! Once you learn a bit about the game, crafting and gearing, by the time you reach that far, he is going to be walk in the park, especially for some classes! On my first character i died on that MF'er more times i can count. With other character i just stood there tanking everything the boss did, no challenge whatsoever! All depends if you got your build and stats in more or less correct order!
Thanks so much for this guide. I've been so crossed up by different videos suggesting "better" levelling paths through the dungeons -- you concisely laying out each method and the pros and cons at the start was exactly what I needed.
I feel like when I did the full campaign, I was still missing 3 idol quests (5/8) by the time I killed the tree, I am fairly certain I did all the side quests and main quests up to that point but ofc I wasn't paying to it as much attention as Raxx who ran through the game multiple times. Similarly Zyzz made a video of how you can skip all the way to act 9 and be able to get all your passives / idols in act 9 which also wasn't true and there were an idol quest and 2 passive quests still missing after killing the last boss for which I had to go back. Ofc this wasn't much of an issue because I outlevled those zones by a lot but still it isn't as straight forward as presented, or ofc I could be an idiot who missed something. As far as strategy 4 is concerned, you would need to do Soulfire Bastion, then go back to act 5 area (between lightless and Soulfire), go kill Admiral Crabs (Harton), and go straight to the portal that leads to the void timeline that leads to Temporal Sanctum (won't need to go to Abode at this point because you are ahead of it by finishing SoulFire bastion)

Hey did you actually do this? I just downed the tree boss and I'm still missing 3 idol slots, don't see any remaining quests on my map that grant idol slots Edit: I had to run Liath's tower to get my last 3 idol slots. Couldn't see any quests I'd missed but maybe I missed an unmarked one or a time rift or something somewhere.
@@JoPOW7 You get the remaining idol slots when you reach the last act. You complete it and get the rest. So basically you go 1-5 or 1-7 and then complete or do some of act 9 and you have everything. i did 1-5 unlocked temporal, completed it, did act 9 and had avsolutely everything i needed. Its 100% doable.
@@ashleygoggs5679 the video says otherwise though - I think I found that I maybe missed a time rift thing that only shows the quest once you enter. Think it's in like act 6 and I just zoomed right past it Either way thankfully I just sped my way to the Liath Tower quest right at the start of act 8, and got it done. No need for act 9 at all, though I will probably use a friend to teleport to the final boss for the +1 attributes he mentions
If anyone is having trouble with Lagon, you can stand on the left or right stairs while you attack the tentacles. If you are about half way down his eye beam that one shots you will completely whiff. One of his aoe's will target you but you can easily move out of the way and just continue shredding. This will also keep you safe from his waves later on in the fight.
You do story until you reach the oracles abode and get the temporal dungeon quest. After finishing it you are already capped on passive skill points. Now go do monoliths until you reach a level you think is safe to do the temporal dungeon.
What I believe to be the fastest leveling method to unlock all ability points and idol slots, without the need to run any dungeon, is the following. (TL;DR: ask in chat for TP to End of Time and Observatory/Bazaar, this allows you to skip Temporal Sanctum and let's you skip Act II, most of V, VI VII and VIII) - Make a new character and get to the first town. Ask in chat if someone can teleport you to The End of Time. - From The End of Time, unlock your mastery, this will make you instantly more powerful. Take the portal to Act II. - Upon arrival, most of Act II has been completed, you already get some ability points and idol slots. Grab the quest for Ezra's Ledger. - B-line it to Ezra's Ledger, no need to fight anything, just pick it up and either TP out of run back to the safe zone and TP there. - Back in Act Two, pick up The Lesser Refuge and dispel the seal and head for the first Act III teleport. - At this point, TP back to the first ACT I and start playing normally until you either finish The Keeper Vault and TP to Act III, or you finish ACT I and then TP to ACT III. Finishing Act I is just to give you a few more levels, making Act III a bit easier. Usually am around level 10 at the start of Act III. - Play from Act III normally until Act V where you can pick up The Sapphire Tablet. Complete this, and at this point you should have 13 ability points and 5 idol slots. - Ask in chat for someone to teleport you to either Observatory or Bazaar. (I do this normally in step 1 already, so I can pick up prophecies) - This will put you in Act IX. Pick up the quests from Maj'Elka Upper District, then backtrack one zone to The Radiant Dunes. (This is important as this will give you 1 ability point and 1 idol slot) - In this zone, look for the catacomb entrance to the big mech dude that guards treasures: this will start Desert Treasure. It is usually not far from the spot where you zone in from. TP back to Maj'Elka Upper District, talk to the NPC for Desert Treasure and go to Maj'Elka Lower District. - Do the quest and progress to Maj'Elka Slums. Find the vendor to complete Desert Treasure and kill the Scalebane Guildleader. - TP back, go to The Oasis and enter The Crystal Mines. Finish Too Greedily, Too Deep and this is the last idol slot you unlocked, you should now be at 15 ability points and 8 idol slots. - You can then decide to continue for the last boss for +1 to all stats, or start with the monoliths. This let's you skip act II, most of V, VI, VII and VIII. The jump from act V to IX puts you at about 15-20 levels difference with the zone, so it's a bit rough, but doable, and you will level up fast.
Wouldn't you want to get COF before doing the monoliths? Also, as far as killing all the things in a monolith, don't you need to build stability to do the 3 quests to advance monolith levels? Thanks
You still get stability completing the objectives without killing every single enemy on the map. Its faster to zoom completing objectives. Yes, you do the 3 big quests so you can unlock the next monolith, you rush the right side, and complete the big 3 monoliths to unlock empowered monoliths.
You're showing Harthenon's Vow, that are no required level, but are Required Rank 5 with Circle of Fortune, so you can't wear it till you get to the Observatory? Edit: Nevermind, I made a new character, and you can join in the first city. Wish I knew that earlier.
WoW, and here I thought I was doing well with a level 100 Paladin, a 77 Beast Master and a 63 Shaman. OK I'm not doing so well LoL, thanks for the video, it will help. Thumbs up. The reason I went with a Paladin for my first character was shield rush, I ran through the game and then farmed all of the twink items I would need and the best drops I got were for the Beast Master and the shaman. Also, I was doing monoliths at 36 on my Paladin without problems but my Shaman was struggling, so I just waited until I leveled him some more
Just killed the tree boss and im missing 2 idol slots :( Edit: After TS I just did a couple quests in Act9 and got the last 3* idol slots at the top....still not killed boss for +1 Attributes, but I'm gonna level a bit 1st and try and get some gear :D Thanks Raxx :)
So if I started the monolyth at level 38, I should look for that key and skip the rest of the campaign? Random but funny how the ball lightning build is OP in LE and D4 lol. Also the way to jump start new characters is uniques. I have a whole set of uniques for level 6 and lower. Slap them on any new character and go hard after that! Do you think they will nerf the uniques levels or is this just the way they found to jump start new characters?
Sucks they nerfed the Jim Thomes for CoF rewards. RIP :( Also, Rax you didn't mention in any of this decision process the access to the Observatory waypoint which for some odd reason is locked behind act 9 in the campaign (even for alts of the same faction). Not sure if this is a bug or by design but seems pretty stupid.
You do have to, or really should, go tag the TS dungeon right away on strats 2 and 3, go to Majelka (sp?), and go to your faction house as soon as you can. You don't complete prophecies until you do.
I suggested adding 1-2 passive points (whatever's needed) and 1 idol slot unlock per dungeon on your first completion, that'd make dungeons + act 9 a viable self-contained path. I hope EHG does that.
Can someone clarify how the Act 7 path works exactly? I beat act 7, I did the dungeon, I'm in act 9, I cannot just go kill the boss. I have to do every main quest that leads to them, is that expected? Raxx sorta made it sound like you can just walk straight to the boss and kill it and bounce? Or did I misunderstand?
For the first character, your best bet is to pick a cheese class that lets you rush to endgame and supply your alts. I like Umbral Blades rogue with the Cacophany of Steel node in the skilltree. It's fun, fast movement with shift, and doesn't really need special gear to get started. Maybe do a video on "best first cycle character builds"?
Recently started a new twinked toon, and realised that you don't need to do dungeons to skip to end content. After finishing Act 3, I just walked into monoliths and started doing echos at level 25, so you may need to update this leveling guide for path 2/3. And for anyone curious, healing hands + divine bolts + firestarter's torch is just ridiculously op.
You say to run the dungeons like it's the easiest thing but the dungeon bosses are worst than any of the campiagn ones, I tried doing Temp Sanc with my Lich after finishing the campaign and got killed by boss, my first alt a shaman again tried to do Lightless arbor at lvl 27 got killed 3 times before i gave up on wasting more keys, and he was full of uniques from my main.
Legendary potential not adding level requirement is insane for leveling uniques. You get 2 T7 mods on a level 0 unique, you start the game with a weapon strong enough to get you to monoliths. But you need that first character to able to get the LP uniques and T7 mods. The initial investment will make leveling alts so much easily, faster and just more fun.
18:30 I strongly disagree with this and I wish the viewer had the spine to stick with his stance. This is both true and untrue. Is it true that xp grants passive points so it's more useful to someone not capping 100 asap? Yes. However, that kind of player is likely not putting in extreme amounts of time into the game, so they're likely going to get more value out of the GAME focusing on improving the visible parts of their character like their gear so the other nodes get more value.
Nice video. I feel Last Epoch is a very easy game. It's like watching a racing car driving in circles. Every build is effective if you invest time into reading the skill description. I got a video up where group of mobs exploded after I ran through them and my character was a lvl 21 Necromancer. The game feel very linear because I know I'll be doing the same thing in the late game as I'm doing right now at lvl 21. I try Monolith (lvl 54 area) and I've notice the trash mobs there take longer to kill. This mean their health and defense got buff up tremendously. That's pretty much it. I got bored of the game in half a day. Some would say it's a 1 button game because it's so easy.
Granted I don't have anyone higher than the 70s, but I don't see those tomes budging my xp bar at all. Im also curious as to why you don't recommend people spending a little more time in monoliths that give you a 50% + xp bonus.
I have leveled maybe 20 characters and I usually do either the 1-7.. or i do 1-7.. but i skip the tedious quests on the way like that.. a college in time or whatever and the time rifts.. and after the tree guy, i still miss those points.. so i push up to tethima and get the last points and idols. I think thats the fastest. For 1.0 i did the dungeons, and i dont think it was really a faster way than 1-7 with skipping the long quests and then going to tethima, since you still have to go back and pick up the skillpoints and idol slots if you do dungeons. The only good thing about taking the dungeons is that you will have those waypoints unlocked and you wont have to run to them later.

I have vendored most of my uniques. Maybe I screwed myself already, but the uniques never helped me, and they never sell at the merchants' guild. I didn't think anyone used DoT. Everything dies too fast for that to be a strat
I find weird raxxs claim that Lagan is hard boss, i walked right thru that fight on first try no sweat, just sidestep the attacks, but the final boss Majasa was actually impossible to beat as a new levelling character on proper level.
Honestly, last boss of campaign should just reward all passives and idols for every character afterthe first Also, personally i prefer doing thd 1-5 and just hold off on getting the idol slots until i actually have a great set of idols that needs the slota, and that usually dont happen until empowered anyway, before that i mainly uae idols to fix up resistances until i get aome propper gear.
I would say.. when you do monos, if it is convinient also kill the exile and take the chest. The exiles drop those experimental items that will make many builds way better. Especially the low life gloves.. and if you do a life build the mod that gives you a lot of endurance threshold when not hit within 4 seconds is good as well. The haste on traversal is also good. And they drop the ladle.. So yeah worth taking them too if you see them on the way.
Im excited about the future of this game. I was hoping end game xp grinding was more than run xp monos, but c'est la vie. Im 93 and its mad boring. lol

I hate the changes/bug fixes they made to the double exp tomes and selling arena keys, specially the XP, it felt extremely good to get 6 XP tomes per run...
I always thought the tombs of experience were shit. I could barely see my level progress bar move at all when I picked them up. I avoided these like the plague... I'll have to give them a second try.

How do we run straight to lagon after finishing the temporal sanctum dungeon ? It leads me to desert majelka district ? lagon is like somewhere else on the map ? (edit ; I guess lagon is not the last boss ? :D )
Warlock with fire starter torch is absolutely easy. This was my first character that I got to 60. Just put down chaotic fissure with chaos bolts and watch it melt.
I followed a pretty good leveling guide which got me to monoliths. I only remember Lagon. I cannot for the life of me remember the Tree Boss that everyone keeps mentioning lmao
i've made 4 characters this season and its my first time running through the game, i don't understand whats so bad about lagon, what makes him a terror?
what i do is do campaign till i get to the part where i have access to end game which is 16ish, then start running echos, a single map will give you dozens of levels, and in a few hours you are already at 60ish which i start running the 3 dungeons to skip campaign and do quests in maj'elka to get the points and idol slots i need
with spellblade mage all in ward fire dmg i face tanked lagon its rly op my weapon was the spear/mace that boost all fire dmg sources idk the name but its so busted
For me it’s different, I feel motivated to play the game if I’m not yet level 100 yet, so I try to avoid tomes and get more gears, so I will be more finished at level 100
hes says after beating the sanctum, go directly to the final boss, but not where the final boss is. thats a bit frustrating. it sounds like you dont have to do any of the act 9 quests. i cant really find another way to do it without doing the quests that lead you to the boss
I'm new to the game but familiar with ARPGs. Last Epoch is the first one with a Hardcore mechanic that hooked me. I just got my first character past level 60 by stumbling onto your #2 strategy by accident simply because Lagon kept sending me back to the character creation screen. Any build suggestions or general tips for new HC players in future videos would be appreciated. Going back to watch your Ward Guide after this.
the act 7 strat seems to be a lil wonky, half the time i have max idol/passives, the other times i need to keep going into act 8 to complete , not sure if im missing quests
