US Airways final flight US1939 full flight experience from Phoenix to San Francisco on October 16, 2015. Aircraft flying is N152UW, an AIrbus A321 delivered to US Airways on May 2013. It was one of the last aircraft US Airways received.
Why 1939? It was the year US Airways first operated under All American Aviation with airmail service between Pennsylvania and Ohio Valley. Throughout the airline's 76-year history, it transitioned to Allegheny, US Air, and finally US Airways.
Flight 1939 stopped at US Airways hub airports:
PHL-CLT || CLT-PHX || PHX-SFO || SFO-PHL
Hope you enjoy the series of photos and videos I put together documenting my experience on the PHX-SFO leg of the last US Airways flight--an amazing part of aviation history!
The last flight US1939 signifies the end of the legacy carrier's 76-year history, and will join other defunct US airlines such Northwest and Continental in the history books.
