Regardless the victories and high rankings the other chess players in history have, no one will ever be loved and admired as this man is. Mikhail Tal. Tal aged really badly. He was just 55 years old in this clip. As Garry Kasparov put it, "But Tal was still Tal. In this blitz tournament, I lost my only game to him. I retaliated in the second round, but the fact was that until the very end, he still had this vision of games"
So sad seeing him getting old. I remember back when i was with my grandfather, we watched his game live , and there was one moment where tal played a move, suddenly the crowd stand and cheers, i dont understand chess too good back then, but what i know is tal loved by his people

Chess engines come and go, the likes of Morphy, Fischer , Kasparov and Carlson. People you can respect, but never truly admire. I fear we will never again see a player like Mikhail Tal, so dedicated to the game, so unique. May he Rest In Peace.
He was the most aggressive player the world ever had. Engines might show his great moves as blunder but engine doesn't mark opponent's move blunder and soon the position turns winning for Tal. His moves are simply beyond engine's analysis. The greatest chess legend world ever had! He is immorTAL. #Tal

If his moves were beyond the Engines' understanding, he wouldn't be possessing one of the lowest winning percentages amongst world champions and also one of the highest loss percentages I'm all for compliments for the legend Mikhail Tal but there's no excuse for being incredibly delusional
Feeling sad after watching this. He smoked heavily that's why he looked like he's in his 70s albeit he was just in his 50s. Yet his flamboyance attitude is still loved and highly respected. This Legend will never die. ❤️
There is no one who doesn't love Tal playing chess. I really wanna hug him so hard. And his ex-World Champion title is more then well deserved. We will always remember you.
I love this so much! I've been a big Tal fan since I learned about him years ago but never thought I would see footage of him. I think Tal in any era would have been an absolute nightmare to face across the board. He will always be missed even by those of us who never met him. RIP champ!
He was never a healthy specimen, afflicted with health problems, drank and smoked more than he should have done. I would not have believed he was only 55 when he died. He looked like a man well into his late sixties. A gifted genius and one-off. Doubt if the chess world will ever see another player like Tal !!
Some people dont leave their passion even during worst part of their life, they are truly legends and great examples for decades...and here he is immortal TAL....
Everybody loves tal. We will never have a chess player like him again. He is the reason a lot of people find interest in chess and see how beautiful it can be.
We used to enjoy chess with friends in high school before the internet era in a small city in Turkey with the two books we were able to find. In them we met the past grandmasters and their games. We played the games on the board by following the book. One of them was crazy. His name was Tal. All of us were in awe of him. No exaggeration. Then we came to know that we were no special. He was the sweetheart of every chess fan. We later learned that he died early. He should have taken better care of himself.
@@oktayyilmaz5134 only a hardworker? you need much more than that to play like Kasparov did at his prime, to be number one for 20 years, to be the best in the world during 15 years, to make so many masterpieces as Kasparov did along his great career.
The Master Tactician. In this category, I rate him the best among Bobby Fischer, Alekhine & even Kasparov. Playing against Tal, you better make sure all your pieces are connected. If one piece is loose, all hell break loose
