Those exploration tokens you uncovered at 5:00ish and 8:00ish are dark matter tokens. You need to roll a die to determine what resource you get when you mine. So it's random, but there's a chance that you can get something better than usual. This isn't covered in the rulebook, since these are promo add-ons. There are blue cards in the box that explain the rules for the promo content.
I was watching in the background at work so if I missed the correction I apologize and I will delete my comment … The pdf rule book from GFG notes “when you destroy an enemy ship or extractor, place it in your graveyard. As soon as you have 4 units…gain 1 light” Units are noted on BGG to be both ships and extractors Also, you can build ships from an enemy graveyard (cost goes to the enemy) but extractors cannot be built from graveyards

Great gameplay, amazing to see someone take such a commanding lead only for both other players to catch up so quickly. Didn’t back this one but will keep my eyes open for a second printing or second campaign.
The Rare Planetary Exploration Tokens flipped were part of the "exotic matter promo" - it's a random resource based on a die roll. Playing it as "any" shouldn't break the game - it is not a very fragile system. But did make it a little stronger for those players. The rules for those tokens come on a separate card. :)
You're right about the refresh card being unclear. It only says it in the overview of play and not in the rotate the board section. We've made a note to update that in future printings.
hmm... double check the order of operations of actions in the rule book. When watching the Dev play I thought Command activates BEFORE the other actions. Thanks for the play through!
It’s a simple as it seems to be. Randomly put any planet where the set up calls for a planet to be depending on your player count. It doesn’t matter the size or color of the planet just randomly put it in the right spot. Then randomize The planetary exploration tokens based on the color.
