And yet 100 plus years on; we still feel the need to watch these films. Tragic yet magnificent. We are a stupid species to confident in ourselves; we remember but never learn. These men... can never be forgotten because we as a people have a duty not too, so we make these films and watch them too. They are our history.
Monkeydann 2004 We are not quite the stupid hairless apes you think we are. If you take this away from the video… watch it again. “There is more to heaven and earth than your philosophy.” “More is wrought by prayer than you will ever know.”
They Shall Not Grow Old, King’s Speech, Saving Private Ryan, 1917, Darkest Hour, and Hacksaw Ridge are all so amazing, if you haven’t seen them yet you need to! The only thing that could possibly be added to make this masterpiece any better is to add Band of Brothers (which you should also watch if you haven’t seen it)

once again, you have put out a stunning work of art. thank you for this. it's truly beautiful how you honored each of these films and the nature of their stories. the use of the music and everything.... im in awe. i used to hate war movies because i used to not care about history. but my love for film changed that. i began watching war movies solely for their iconic cinematography, editing, soundtrack, and every other aspect of art behind them. soon i started to care and i started to feel more for these movies. there are so many incredible, tragic, heartwarming, beautiful, real stories that most people, including myself, would know nothing about if it weren't for these movies. we're never taught of these in school. we never learn of the heroics of men like Desmond Doss and Marcus Luttrell and countless like them who defied the expectations of so many. but they are some of the most inspiring and mesmerizing tales of all time. once again, you captured these so, so beautifully. thank you again.
I just clicked on this because it was recommended to me and I was interested, and I left with tears in my eyes and a stronger love for the stories told in these films.
It's always through such terrible events where valor and unyielding courage has shined the brightest. These films give us all a brief glimpse into the hell all these men endured...and survived. "Death smiles upon us all...only the brave smile back."
The only films I wish I could've seen alongside these greats would be Fury and Thin Red Line. Those films touched me and I feel that they are underrated. Still a fantastic video
I really loved that you used benedict cumberbatch's 1917 and War horse voiceover. They are really underrated impactful scenes and plus I'm a huge fan of him . So excellent work mate .
Pretty powerful stuff. Seeing all these young men fighting in these movies always reminds me of the FDR quote, “War is young men dying and old men talking.” Tragic stuff but thank you for showcasing the bravery of young men fighting for a peace they may not have seen
This was.........it was a tribute to show war that through its hatred and blood and shit and mud great men are tested I the crucibles of its fields, it’s sky’s,its seas and vast oceans nothing will ever justify it and in the end all that’s left are the survivors not victors nor losers just the gone and the ones left to live with the memories of the war and that we cannot ever forget the ones who gave their lives for whatever cause they deemed worthy in that great struggle and conflict this video was just beautiful and true and humble and showed the bravery and yet also the brutality of war and what it does to man this is by far one of your best and I’m still in a state of shock and awe as i am writing this don’t ever stop making these edits KEEP GOING!!!!!!! All of these films are in my top 10 best war films ever and I’m glad to see them be recognized for their true depictions of war and what they do to man this was your best work my friend........
Every single video you work on is a masterpiece. This video is just another example added to the list. You have a lot of potential and I see you're using it to the fullest. It's also interesting you've made Harry Potter, Doctor Who and war tributes, the things I'm interested in. Great work on this video and I hope to see more coming!
I'm really glad you included 1917. Really helps the movie cement itself into the classics like "Saving Private Ryan" when I see it used for stuff like this
WOW. This video just KILLED ME. I'm shaking and crying like a baby. Gosh, how amazing and talented you are. You have a gift, you know how to choose the right footage, the right score. A masterpiece, really.
Amazing vid.. I've actually watched all of these which just goes to show how important these stories are to our lives today... may we never forget those who gave their lives in these wars.
Band of Brothers, Hacksaw Ridge, Saving Private Ryan, Dunkirk, 1917, They Shall Not Grow Old, War Horse, and The King’s Speech. These movies are easily the best war movies out there.
"You know they say the WW2 Guys were the Best Generation. I think those who served after in every other war were the best of there Generation. They went , they served, they sacrificed and they fought like Tiger's." Joseph Galloway
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old. Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them.
" They wrote in the old days that it is sweet and fitting to die for one's country. But in modern war, there is nothing sweet nor fitting in your dying. You will die like a dog for no good reason." Earnest Hemingway.
I understand this was focused on the European theatre of war during WW2, but I would have loved some Thin Red Line in there, somewhere. It's great, regardless.
