Next time you make a heat pillow, make thè insert out of a cotton material like the pillow and make a removable cover that can be laundered.

I considered that but felt the heat pack would be less effective.

I make these too. Northern fleece is one of my favorite things to use for the fabric; I buy small bits of it in the clearance section of the fabric store now and then. Any scrap will work though, up to and including denim.

The neck thingy to heat is a wonderful idea. I, too found them expensive to purchase so I made one sewing them inside out, filled with rice very easy to heat in the microwave. Sewing it this way makes a much smoother product. You have wonderful ideas Keep sewing.

Loved your video! I made ‘heat pillow’ gifts around Christmas for friends. Used a ‘cotton ticking’ for the ‘inner pillow’. I’m in Canada 🇨🇦, so used a beautiful ‘winter flannel print’ for the ‘outer cover’ and sewed it up so you launder it easily [ one of those ’secret flaps’ kind of deal ]. The flannel adds a warm + cozy feel. I also used ‘barley’ (love the toasty earthy fragrance when heated), but instead of Lavender Oil, I added ‘dried Lavender flowers’ into the mix. This was a very satisfying project! I enjoyed each step + it made me happy just thinking about people using it to warm up when they needed that comfort. These are ‘priceless’ gifts that keep giving. Love it! ♥️😌🌟🇨🇦👍🏽
