Gift cards are so stupid, here's money that you can only use at this specific store... If only there was a way to gift something they could spend however they like hmmmm....
This is 100% the reason why I don't get my dad shoes. They're either too wide, too narrow, too flat, not flat enough, too flexible, not flexible enough. The gift card is the gift that keeps on giving.
Seriously. Last time I saw my cousin before this thanksgiving, he was barely up to my waste. He visited on thanksgiving and Now he’s taller than me! And I’m 6’1!

@@Collins7.3l you need to get farther north, I live near GB Wisconsin and I probably say it at least like 20 times a day and 100 times a day subconsciously without thinking about it.
@@Collins7.3l sad thing is a lot of people at packer games arent from the area or from Wisconsin at all, so I reccommend going to some bars with locals afterwards or tailgating
On the subject of gift giving, I never understood why some people get mad about getting gift cards or money. I feel like those are the safest gifts because the people can basically buy whatever they want with them. I usually appreciate pretty much anything someone takes the time and energy to give me. It's really nice when people think of you and that's why I appreciate all gifts. I also love giving gifts to people I care about.

its crazy the difference... i live in an outer suburb, but when i head into the city most of the people are still wearing masks. in the suburb, not so much
Growing up my dad would take all four of us kids shopping on Christmas Eve just two hours before the stores in the mall closed to look for his gift for our mom. We would start at JC Penney’s looking at Hillary Clinton style pantsuits. After 30 minutes of debating different ones and rejecting every other gift idea we kids gave him, we had to traipse around to every other women’s clothing store and price compare their pantsuits with the first one he saw at Penney’s. Then with only 5 minutes before the mall closed, we had to run like Santa’s reindeer back to Penney’s and he’d purchase the very first pantsuit the store clerk had shown him. Every year it was the same.
I like to think of myself as a practical gifter. Cards, cash, diapers, beer, car kit for those who can't think ahead. And whiskey for the in laws, because if they're drunk I can be too. Best part: you can pick all this up on your way there.
That essential oil thing hit home. Legitimately thought it was the same thing when I first got told by my girlfriends friend that my girlfriend loved essential oils. I bought 1 of those and some refined coconut oil.
Theo My parents host Christmas and I can’t even be there 😪 but last year I sent them from Harry & David some flowers,a cheese & sausage set that came with a sled cutting board,coffee reg.,& decaf and some desserts,maybe also nuts? That way they didn’t have to spend their money or time stressing about it. My sister & grandpa also brought dessert so it didn’t get used & my parents didn’t use the coffee either at the party but at least did for themselves as far as I know. My son picked out gifts for them at his schools Santa workshop so that’s what they got this year bc my mom said not to do gifts & I honestly don’t know what to get them anyways.
Gift cards are the best. I like getting them because I usually have a large item in mind that I don't expect someone to buy for me. So its money to help me get to the final goal. 1 year I asked for money/gift cards cause I wanted a pair of boots that were over $100.
