my last GSX-R was an 2005 750, got to jump on a friends 2005 1000 GSXR and i knew that was way more than i would ever need in the twisties. but for just sheer fun of straight acceleration that thing was a beast.
@78logistics
@78logistics Год назад
@@motomani-ax the 2020 GSXR 750 (148 hp) probably is close in power to that 05 1000 and lighter ..more than I ever will need as well..I went out intending to buy a ZX6R but bought a 750 instead, then a new ZX6R track bike a few months later. Also very very fast.

One of the most balanced platforms ever made-- you'll have reviews and people stating about lack of tech but I have experience with the Triumph and it's not half as capable as a Gixxer750 is lol, not as stable at hard lean or speed. GSXR750 still is one of the best deals for performance in the market and the 750 in particular has one of the smoothest engines. You don't need trac control and a bunch of electronics with something perfectly balanced as is lol
@motomani-ax
@motomani-ax Год назад
I agree, had the 05 GSX-R 750 for a few years when it came out and loved that bike. Couldn't find an sport bike at any of the dealers when I decided to get back on a bike again. So I purchased the 2018 Triumph to get me by while I was on the waiting list for 5 months to get the new 2023 750.
@tarnishedsquid2967
@tarnishedsquid2967 Год назад
Not half as capable? Are you high? Lol. A Street triple is basically a naked re-tuned Daytona 675
@englishsteel-nz6im
@englishsteel-nz6im Год назад
@@tarnishedsquid2967 So you think a Street Triple is going to hang with a Gixxer750 or even a well set up Daytona 675 on the track? The Gixxer makes 148 HP and is aerodynamic and set up for racing where as the Street Triple is set up for road riding and makes less power at a less peaky top end, nor is it's chassis and suspension nearly as stable at high speed lean to even the Daytona and the Daytona is in the 600cc class and not as potent as the 750. I have exp with all of these bikes and a Street Triple is not even going to hang with a stock 600 at the track or in a fast canyon run if skill level is all equivalent. There's a huge difference between a race replica and a sporty naked bike--- do you think a Kawa Z900 hangs with a ZX6R as well? It doesn't. The tech'd out modern successor to the Gixxer750 is the Panigale V2 and nobody in their right mind would compare a middleweight naked bike to that.
@motomani-ax
@motomani-ax Год назад
@@tarnishedsquid2967 yea, i don't think that is the case. owning the street triple R i know there are differences. in the mountains or curves, it will be down to the better skilled rider. but in the straights the GSX-R will walk away from the Triumph very quickly. I got side by side with an R6 and it just left me in the dust and i had all of the bike's safety controls disabled so the bike was at it peak power.
@tarnishedsquid2967
@tarnishedsquid2967 Год назад
@@englishsteel-nz6im half as capable is a bit of a stretch, I'm talking about riding on the road. Track sure it will get spanked. Of course I don't think a zed 900 is gonna keep up with a ZX-6. Completely different bike. Street triple has the same chassis as a Daytona just naked set up - re-tuned motor for more accessible torque. Naked hang with SuperSports all day I see it every weekend here in the mountains of California lol. Unless your a die hard track guy or straight line warrior naked is where it's at.

i have, i babied it somewhat for the break-in mileage then slowly started pushing on it in the straights to let it stretch its legs. now i pretty used to it. don't think for a second though that i know that bike still can catch you off guard and put your butt in the asphalt or worse... respect it and it will treat you right.

I have owned super sport bikes my entire life. I took a chance with the triumph as there were no sport bikes to be found early 2022. so i had to put an deposit down on this new one and waited 5 months for it. don't get me wrong the triumph has a LOT of positives and a few cons. mostly for me it was the commute on the interstate and no wind visor to really block the wind. I am more used to the seating position on sport bikes also. where with the street triple R you are more upright. I am still breaking in the Suzuki, so until I reach 600 miles and get it serviced and ride it with full capacity then i can give a lot better review. thanks for watching, my channel is small but i am going to be posting more here and i finally got me an microphone for my helmet to record.

Had a k6 model of 750. Such a boring thing to ride unless you go faster. I lost my license in a 1st month for 24 weeks after 8 years of not a single offence riding naked bikes (ironically Street triple r among them). I'll never own another sports bike. I like to looks and weather protection but the risk to fun ratio is completely unbalanced. Congrats on new bike and ability to restrict yourself😁
@motomani-ax
@motomani-ax Год назад
thank you sir, but that's why you load up and take it to the track for a day. Or in my case also some great twisties in the mountains with skill to know where your limits are. The Triumph will remain as one of my favorite's but my heart has always been with the GSX-R. Now all we need is for Suzuki to get off their butts and update the display. They already have for the 1000R series.

so i got prices on a new one. it was $12849.00. and then went to $15900.00 with taxes and freight and other dealer bs. i just came into a good amount of coin recently and could buy six of them if i wanted, but all the upcharges really turned me off and made me reanalyze my options on my current bike. the stealerships are a real turn off. and suzuki is not making enough of them to get good prices.

@@motomani-ax same here with cold weather so I won’t probably start breaking in till next year but I will say I did have the 2022 gsxr 750 but I got hit at 60 mph totaled it so I got this one now but don’t put 300v in till your done with break in use the cheaper normal oil during break in cuz you want your piston rings to seal correctly and also I also recommend Michelin 6 tires those performed pretty good too.
