On Sunday, 16th November 2014, Lachlan Valley Railway operated what is probably the last steam train into Newcastle, NSW, before the line is truncated. The ‘Northern Commercial Limited’ arrived behind locomotive 5917, paralleled by 3237 (which had double-headed with the 59 from Gosford and detached for the run into Newcastle Station).
