I love how this anime makes you think about life, every single episode was powerful and amazingly done. One of the most original series I've ever seen so far.
The opening mirrors the vibrance of having life, being given the chance and ability to live, the gift of life. The ending mirrors the sad aspect of death, of how no matter how great or terrible life may be, in the end we really are all going to die. At that moment is when we are most vulnerable, when we either try to cling on to life because of what we will leave behind and what we're afraid of, or we embrace death because we feel we've fulfilled what we desired or we don't have anything to lose when we're gone. That is how I've interpreted the opening and closing's contrast.
i actually think it's more about suicidal depression, specifically because of these lines: "I can't understand how this chain reaction Has brought me to the edge I'm looking down One more step would it make me free? " a bit vague, but could very well fall with both suicide and an accidental fatal situation ""I don't want to destroy life..." Remember~~ "I know you want to" "It's alright" Remember~~ " again, either it's about suicide, or about decim(or about a serial killer/psychopath, but that wouldn't make much sense) "I feel so alone My blood is on the ground This time I lost control " same as the first one now this one, this entire one is the big one: "I gave up my thoughts Lived just by reaction Made nothing but a fake, empty escape "Be true to yourself" I've heard enough of that I know if I remember I'll find the good I don't care " specifically these lines: "Lived just by reaction " "I've heard enough of that " " if I remember I'll find the good I don't care "" these are all things a suicidal person would say, no doubt about that. the sad thing is that if i'm right, then this song actually ends with a suicide, which is a very morbid thing and makes me doubt my theory just because of that. p.s.: it could also be just a citation to the anime, or maybe a mix of both.
oh and... a lot of their other songs, at least the ones from the same album where the ending of barakamon was taken(your hands) also do talk about depression, suicide and other common issues in modern japan such as over-objective authorities(e.g. noah is centered about "arbitrary success in life" )
@@iota-09 your understanding is good as well as the one of the first commenter. But you actually interpreted the song while she (or he?) Interpreted the difference between opening and ending in choice
This is the anime that all future anime shows with dark and contemplative themes will be compared to. This was a masterpiece that deserves every bit of praise it gets.
Rewatching parts of the anime. On the scene where Chiyuki is skating, I can't help but wonder... Who is the pianist that Decim met? She was on the playing cards, she's always got her own spot that isn't separated like the gallery, often shown in the background or filler shots. I wanna see the story behind that one...
@@dmcpartlin17 They didn't, I would like to know why Genki collected those wooden dolls, and who was Mimai. Genki was way more docile when it come to his job. He didn't care about how human emotions felt he thought all humans were stupid, and their emotions were pointless, and yet ironically he portrayed the most emotions out of all the arbiters.
+joão guilherme The ED suits the show perfectly while the OP is misleading as fuck. I heard about death parade but when i saw the OP i was like "errrrr, are you sure bro?" XD
+Creative Ziggy I think it's perfect how the openin is like: "Yo com on in, it's all fun and games here!" while the ending theme is like the sad conclusion.
This anime changed my life. I made me realise why I shouldn't take my own life, no matter how hard life gets. I realised this when the black haired girl wanted to apologize to her mother. there are people out there who care, you just have to find them.
I Watched this anime very recently, and i can honestly say that it is my favorite anime! The story, scenes, characters, music and art style (and anything else i've missed out) is flipping amazing, it was so well done!!! i cried so much watching some of the scenes, to the point that i had to pause the episode so that i could read the subtitles! XD hahaha oh geeez, this anime is amazing, ANY ONE WHO HASN'T SEEN THIS ANIME, GO WATCH IT NOW!!!! btw, the opening song is catchy as hell and the ending theme is so flipping amazing and it is a song that you can really lose you're self in.
+L Lawliet OMG your so right!!! I have never cried so much in my entire life watching the lift scene with Mayu Arita and Harada (wont say any more in case of spoilers for people who haven't scene this anime... yet) and also in the last episode with Chiyuki and Decim. god, I'm getting choked up just thinking about it! your so right L Lawliet, "just perfection"!!!
L Lawliet I know right? after watching the episode with chiyuki ice skating, I just had t go back and rewatch it because the music was gorgeous! so beautiful!!
>In upstairs bedroom >go downstairs to watch tv >reach bottom of the steps >reach to grab phone from my pocket >left it on my bed >slowly turn around and look up the steps >think in my head "IM NOT GONNA MAKE IIIIIIIITTTT!!!"
>Goes downstairs >Banana on stairs... >Song randomly goes on like "Im not gonna make it" >You skid on banana >Hits so hard your neighbour could hear it >You're dead >You're in unknown place in elevator. >It opens >Decim says "Ooops, wrong person" >You're Son Goku/Meliodas/Ban/Kirito/Zeref/Kaneki/Sakamaki Izayoi/One Punch Man/Luffy/Tatsuya Shiba/(and more+) and by the power of immortality/plot armor You can never be killed. >Your neighbour already broken windows and looks at your "dead" body while saying "Omae wa mou shindeiru" >You wake up, say "Nani" and kills him. >Decim smiles and says "Welcome to Quindecim" >Ending: At least someone died.
This was honestly the most perfect ending theme for this anime...after every episode this just followed up so nicely leaving you with a feeling of either anguish or bittersweet self reflection! The series itself was so shocking yet such an eye opener so this ending fit the mood you needed to be in to think about whatever the hell you just watched lol.
really i have watched like...so many anime and this is the best i have watched so far and i dot think that i will ever find a better anime. pure 10/10 absolute masterpiece.
This is one of the most brutal, destructional animes ever. When I clicked on first episode and saw the opening; so nice and chearful, I was like ,,Hey, this is gonna be one nice anime, despite the fact that it's called Death parade!'' By the time I finished the final episode, I was devastated. Really great anime. But I highly daubt I could stand to watch it again.
The song represents the feeling of being suicidal so well though, honestly. You can hear the mental (usually causing physical) agony or sometimes just the remembrance of the agony... It's just... As a singer who started to lose her ability to feel emotions for a while I know it is hard (inpossible really) to get genuine emotion in your voice without currently feeling it, even if you've felt it before.
everytime i watch this anime i alwqys cry. and then whn decim cried i balled so hard. he really felt what it meant to be human. to actually understand feelings. they need a seconds
I think I was crying too hard to write an accurate sentence. Why is this not on Spotify? I stumbled upon this series with no recommendation and never hearing of it before, and of course I binge watched it and it wrecked my life. I literally had to pace around my house after episode 9. I need to listen to this on repeat for a few years to get over this.
I think episode 9 was the best episode. This song really fit during that ending. Shimada's twisted smile at the end, Tatsumi's fucked up but honestly a little true mindset, and how it shows that our emotions can turn a very good person like Shimada into a willful killer.
I was thinking about this song today but completely forgot how it sounded. As soon as I heard “I’m not gonna” the whole song hit me like a brick and now I’m drowning in nostalgia lmfaoo 😭💀
This anime has a very deep and special place in my heart, everything was so perfect from the writing, hiting, themes, ideas characters, soundtrack and even the animation!! Every year I rewatch it and it still has the same effect on me
Thanks to this anime (Death Parade), i know this band NoisyCell. This song is from their album "Sources", I can tell this album really fit this anime so well. They wrote the album so perfectly and I feel emotional hearing it. Especially everytime I'm feeling down, this band really lighten up my mood. My favourite #1 song from this band is "Halo of the Moment", next one is "Innocence", I feel like those 2 are their peak songs so far.
I just started watching this series a couple days ago. I have a tendency to skip the openings and endings but I took the time to listen to this one after I saw some comments on the website I was watching it on. After listening to this song and looking at the lyrics.. I just cant stop listening.. And the anime is probably one of the best shows ive ever watched period.
"If you cant change the world, then change yourself!!!", just this line and aftermath, I had to take a moment of my life, thinking about life and death, contemplating what is right and wrong, the people that i should forgive and the people i should ask forgiveness from, so many things crossed my mind, gotta slow down the pace but couldnt. If someone did something like that to my sister or family, how could I forgive him, all the hatred and anger, heart feels like it is burning when you think about forgiving someone after what he had done. Eps9 ending is a real life-changer.
This song already hit me harder then anything, but when hearing this when getting the word of my father passing away from cancer just hit me too hard. He died 5 months ago and only today had the courage to finally hear the song again.
This song is literally about Decim.. I'm sobbing right now remembering what happen in the anime and all and I love this song so so much! The lyrics is deep too.. This ending deserve to be known! Still love Decim till now though
Two years later, but I'll say it. This song is actually about suicide. If you read very well and put in the shoes of a person who wants to die you can notice it between the lyrics. Near the end when it's said "Who chooses what is right?" Is meant for the judges, for what you did in your life before dieing. And even whatever you did in your life, good or bad that is, you still have to understand that one day everyone will just become dust by accepting it, because death is part of our life.
Just finished this show and...I'm amazed...at a loss for words Not only is the opening nice and the animation is beautiful but the story. It really gets you thinking about life and what reasons people have behind their actions.
buralarda bunu dinleyip ağlıyan türler oldunu biliyorum hala 1 senedir böyle bir anime bulamadım 7 yıldır anime izliyordum dönüm noktam oldu tmaraneden çıkış biletim dostlar...
