If it burns tell Justin to push the medication in slower. The slower you administer the drug, the less it will burn. Also if your medication is cold it will burn more. Let it get to room temperature first. I have given a million injections in my days and these are at two tips I can pass on. Your right about rubbing the area after. I LOVE the magnetic latches. Just make sure to get an extra magnet. There better than the traditional for under the sink and bathrooms for sure. The traditional allow for an inch or so space, my kids could still get their arms in. The magnet is completely locked closed.

The magnetic cabinet latches are okay. In my opinion they aren't any better than the other regular ones. They can break just as easily as the other ones and its sorta annoying to always have to grab the magnet and then walk to the cabinet you need- it's really just a preference thing I think. I have so many skin problems and have flare ups like sweet Emma and I have found that Aquaphor is amazing! It was clear up instantly but it moisturizes the area so well and after a couple days you may see a big difference and also sometimes pure aloe helps too! I feel like that's hit and miss for me but there was a period of time where it helped so much and if anything the aloe just sools it and makes it feel so much better if it gets so dry and itchy. I know it's so hot outside these days but playing outside and getting natural sunlight can help as well. I used to sit out and tan naturally (and fake tan for a bit too) simply because the sunlight helped my skin flare ups so much. Being in the chlorine pool for the last several weeks may have irritated her skin a but that's life and those swim lessons were a great thing for her. Just keep at it yall. She is doing great!

I love how you still use a baby picture book for Emma! I feel like a lot of parents have most of their pictures stored on a laptop or something, but I know I always love to look through my own printed pictures! She'll love it too when she's a bit older!

More essential fatty acids in her diet should help with the eczema. It helps her skin heal and regulate itself! So avocados and foods high in EFAs will help!

♥️ my magnetic locks! I've had them for 18 yrs & my kiddos are 19, 9, & 6! I just stick the magnets to the side of my fridge so we don't lose them 😉 You can set them to stay unlocked if you need to, which ours are, but they are good for keeping babysitters, visitors, etc out of your cabinets.

We have magnetic locks on the cabinets and I LOVE them. They are inside and not visible. Also if you don’t need them as the baby gets older, they have the lock to keep the doors open. And when the next baby comes, it’s easy to open it again and have the cabinets locked again. We got our from Amazon.

Try Cetaphil baby soap and they have baby lotion too it is super sensitive but also helps with the eczema! We use both on the baby I nanny since he was 2 weeks old and he is just a week or two older then Emma

LOVE the safety first magnetic ones!! hardest cabinet to lock is the corner cabinet and you showed that so might need other option for that but otherwise love the magnets for normal doors! NOTE get an extra magnet we once locked it in the cabinet and had to remove drawers to unlock it and retrieve the key LOL

Yes on magnetic ones! They don’t ruin your cabinets and you can turn them on and off depending on if they are getting into cabinets or not. I think the best place to get them is amazon.

Aveeno makes a powder that you mix into the bath, we make a thin paste with it by just mixing a small amount with just a little water. I put it on and leave it for about 10 minutes then rinse off. Hope it works!

My little one gets some rashes and bumps pretty often. When he does, I put some coconut oil on it AND a layer of Tubby Todd all over ointment or whatever its called. Its worked wonders for us. The tubby todd stuff wasn't moisturizing enough and the coconut oil wasn't enough on its own but together they seem to do the trick.

Tubby tods all over ointment is great. My baby boy gets patches like that sometimes and it always goes away after a few days of using the ointment. I use it all over his body. If I keep up with it his skin stays sooo soft!

I’ve had eczema since I was a baby and now as an adult the best thing I can do for it is moisturize right before I sleep so it has a chance to sink in. I love the gold bond eczema relief products that have colloidal oatmeal. Not all “eczema association approved products” are made equal so just keep trying! If oatmeal bath worked for her definitely try a product with colloidal oatmeal, same idea as the bath! Good luck 💕

I love the magnetic cabinet locks but they were like $24.99 for 4! They were super easy to install and they are super easy to use. You can also keep them locked or move the little lever thing to keep them unlocked. Nice feature for when the baby goes to bed or you also use a gate but sometimes want the baby in the kitchen. A+ vote from me on those!

yes we have the magnetic ones and they are amazing but you have to put to little magnet to open them in the same spot and it can get annoying always having to reach for it before opening the draws etc. but i like them for the fact you cant open the draws at all so no little fingers get caught

aquaphor healing ointment is amazing for it, my son would get it so bad behind his poor little knees that it would blister. Once I see any sign of a outbreak I coat his body in this, the only down side is it stains clothes but I would just use certain clothes when it happens so it wouldn’t mess up all his nice stuff

Rachelle! I have tried the magnetic locks for the cabinet doors off Amazon. They looked like they would have worked but if the inside of the cabinet is a smooth surface and doesnt have a piece of wood behind they don't work. The normal ones work just fine and if anything the latches but they leave a very ugly adhesive if left on for too long (like few years) my mom used them on the fridge and they were a pain in the butt to scrub the sticky stuff off of.

I have bad eczema. I use vanicream soap and cerave moisture cream, with aquaphor as well for bad flare ups. I love cerave baby wash and lotion for my son.

For eczema on the face use hydrocortisone cream and keep her face moisturized constantly! My son has eczema and the doctor told me we should lotion him throughout the day and if we can’t feel the lotion on him, he’s too dry. So far it has helped prevent any more patches come up!

There's baby eczema creams you can get at any store. Not sure which brand is BEST but I've used the Aveeno brand one on my own eczema due to sensitive skin and its great. Highly recommend. Eucerin and Aquaphor are also good options to use as well! Always apply after a bath, as that's when her skin is most likely to soak up all that moisture. If no bath that day, once in the morning and once before bed until its cleared will do just fine. I've had many dermatologist appointments for mine and this routine seems to work best for me. Hope it clears soon!

For her eczema, I had to actually get a prescription hydrocortisone cream. I also use these lid scrub pads ( I have it on my eye and finger. Weird I know) I use them on my finger as well and they just help GENTLY remove the annoying dry skin. Maybe have her see an infant dermatologist because the hydrocortisone can be given at a lower percentage for more sensitive skin (like I have for my eye)

Magnetic safety latches for sure. We started out with the ones you saw at the store, but the drawers/cabinets still partially open. My twins kept pinching their fingers. The magnetic ones are so worth it.

Rachel, when you take the liquid out into the syringe make sure there is no bubbles of air inside the syringe. If you see some, hit the syringe with your index fingers (but not too hard) to try to remove them.

Cetaphil lotion was a godsend with my middle daughter during an eczema flare up!

Oh one more thing, when Justin is injecting with one hand, have him to hold the gauze pad with the other hand and just before taking the needle out position the pad, press down and move it in circular motion without rubbing the area for a few seconds, smoothly - that will allows the liquid to spread faster and reduce the pain (time). These tips will help.

Hi there! I’m a medical Assistant and I give Gluteal injections all day long! A trick that helps is pinching the entire time you give the injection, so pinch with your non dominant hand and give the injection entirely with the dominant hand until the needle is out. I’ve noticed that helps a lot with my patients!

I use fresh aloe vera plant clippings on my grandchildren's Eczema and it works great. I cut it up into pieces peel off the skin put it in a ziplock bag and stick it in the fridge. It is so soothing on the skin.

Do like 20 squats after your shot. It helps get the oil into the muscle. I do them after my PIO and have no soreness. It's pretty amazing!

I get this wash from Lush called UltraBland. A little goes a long way so honestly just ask for a sample! It's a very thick beeswax and oatmeal based paste that is technically a face wash. You cover your face in it and then wipe it off with a warm washcloth. However, when I went in with eczema flare ups on my face, the person suggested that I leave a dab on the affected areas for a while, even overnight. It's worth a try!

Try the Eucerin excema cream... I’ve used it on my son and it works well.. I also would put a small amount of neutrogena bath oil in his bath water. It really helped.

I used the the root spray stuff during my pregnancy, just for when I was going out with friends, but then I had greys coming through. Plus decided to get it done once but only in my second trimester. My 21 month old gets the same looking eczema spots on his face and the absolute only thing that helps is the prescription strength hydrocortisone, think it's 1%. We use it when it's bad and makes it go away so fast. We don't use it near the eyes at all.

For her eczema patch... Try Aquaphor! My best friend's baby got a rash really bad ubder his passy on his chin from drooling while teething. They used it all the time and it worked! I use it on myself and I really love it! 🙂 Hope this helps!!

The baby proofing stuff is an absolute joke. All 3 of my kids figured them out in minutes.

Coconut oil worked amazing for my daughter :)

Copaiba (essential oil from doTERRA). Just dilute it with some coconut oil or avocado oil. I would do three drops Coconut oil and one drop Copaiba and dab on the spots on her face. It will help with itching and the redness. Will help reduce swelling also.

The spot on Emma's face could be from her pacifiers. Sterilize all of them, and then only give her one at a time. It looks like it is a reaction to bacteria on the plastic.
